January 2017 in sports should be a good one. We’ve got a lot of big NFL action as they match onto the Superbowl. Around the halfway mark of the NHL season we will see some really big games etc.

A lot of good boxing events, NHL has the Winter Classic and the Centennial Classic.

If you’re a wrestling fan it’s – what I feel is the best PPV of the year – in the Royal Rumble.

Here’s the January 2017 Sporting Events Calendar:

Football:

The playoffs take place in January and also the Pro Bowl is on January 29th

Golf:

The PGA Tour returns in 2017 nice and early with the Tournament of Champions in Kapulua. It takes place beginning January 5th. We’ve then got the Sony Open on January 12th in Hawaii. Next is the CareerBuilder Challenge on January 19th in La Quinta, California which is always a tough one to predict. Finally the Farmers Insurance Open in California begins on January 26th. Nice busy schedule for the PGA in January.

The European Tour returns on January 12th with the BMW SA Open in South Africa. They’re then off to Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on January 19th, 2017. Finally for January it’s the Commercial bank Qatar Masters which will begin on January 26th.

The Champions Tour has the lone January event. It’s the Mitsubishi Electric Championship which takes place in Hawaii over January 21st-January 23rd.

The LPGA also has just one event in January which is January 28th-January 31st. It’s the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic.

Man I gotta go watch me some Champions Tour or LPGA at this time of year! I do golf tips wonder if I can class it as a business expense.

Hockey:

Obviously the NHL season continues. The Chicago Blackhawks will take on the St. Louis Blues in Busch Stadium on January 2nd 2017 for the NHL Winter Classic.

However we’ve also got the NHL Centennial Classic which is on January 1st from BMO Field in Toronto. That one will be interesting and it features the Leafs versus the Red Wings.

The World Juniors also go until the 5th of January. They begin on the 26th.
