This week sees the very first “Azerbaijan Grand Prix” in the Formula 1 although it’s actually the 2nd race held here at the Baku City Circuit.

Last year it was on the schedule but known as the “European Grand Prix”.

I’ve got Azerbaijan Grand Prix Betting Tips and then further down the page I’ve got Bellator 180 Betting Tips.

Last year saw some nice variety in the top three with Sergio Perez from Force India in third, Sebastian Vettle from Ferrari in second and Nico Rosberg from Mercedes in first.

This is actually a pretty good circuit and it boasts a straight which is 1.3 miles long. You’ll see the Caspian Sea during the driving as well.

The first practise has been interesting. Verstappen is looking pretty damn solid and there was some accidents. So you have to wonder what we’ll see on the race as well.

It’s looking like weather wise we’re in for a good one which is nice.

Here’s my bets:

Azerbaijan Grand Prix Winner Bet:

I’m betting last years 2nd place, Sebastian Vettel, to do one better and win this race. If we look at Russia it’s very similar to that in terms of the smoothness. It’s also a street circuit and I think the Mercedes will struggle to get set up properly for the race. That gives Vettel some great opportunities here and I honestly think it will be his race to lose.

Azerbaijan Grand Prix Podium Finish Bet:

Raikkonen was driving a much inferior car last year and should have gotten on the podium. The only reason he didn’t was a 5 second time penalty. I like Kimi to do the business this year and get on the podium.

Long Shot Bet:

My long shot bet is Palmer to get in the points a t6/1.

In the right hands the Renault is a points scoring car. On the surface Palmer isn’t the one with the right hands however when you look at it he’s really only struggled due to bad luck more than poor driving. I think he’s got a good chance here and there’s some solid value.

Bellator 180 Betting Tips:

You know call me crazy but I’m going to take Wanderlei Silva. Sonnens last performance was atrocious and Wanderlei is a nice price. The big thing for me however is I just haven’t seen much media from Sonnen – he’s not hyping this up like he usually does. Maybe that means he’s more focused on the fight? Possibly. But I also just think maybe his heart isn’t in it and I just don’t think he has what it takes.

I’m also on Matt Mitrione. Fedor is done. He doesn’t have the Russian judges etc to hook him up here. Gotta take Mitrione who is a great price. It’s so close in odds purely due to Fedors name value.

Another nice price is Douglas Lima. Larkin is an underrated fighter but if Lima can stick to his strategy and stay in control he can win this one I believe.
