It’s Friday and that’s when I cover the Formula 1!

We’re coming off a solid British Grand Prix where I correctly predicted that Lewis Hamilton would be the winner of that one. I said he’d get his 5th win at Silverstone and he did just that.

I also correctly predicted that Nico Hulkenberg would get in the points and Nico came 6th so get in the points and make it another win.

Good little week there.

So now we turn our attention to Hungary.

It’s a tight, twisty street cycle circuit. If you’re looking for a circuit close to it, Monaco is fairly similar so I’ll be looking at results from there to help me with this one.

Lewis Hamilton be chasing a 6th win at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He won here last year with Vettel the year prior. Hamilton first won here back in 2007 – 10 years ago. Crazy how time flies.

Despite that, I just can’t go with him here.

Hungarian Grand Prix Winner: Sebastian Vettel

Vettel won only once here previously as mentioned, and he’s performed well on this track. Despite the fact that Mercedes has been making gains lately on Ferrari, I just think this track is going to suit the Ferrari better.

Plus Kimi is driving for Seb now and he won’t pose any challenge.

Gotta take Vettel all the way at his price.

Points Finish:

You don’t really need a strong engine here, so I’m expecting a solid performance from McLaren at this track.

They’ve been stockpiling components for this race too so they could do quite well.

I’m going to back Stoffel Vandoorne for a points finish here. He hasn’t had a good year thus far but I just think this one is going to suit them a lot better.

Long Shot Bet:

This weeks long shot bet is a VERY long shot bet as I’m taking Perez on fastest lap.

He’s about 50/1 odds so it’s a very risky one. However last year the fastest lap was set on lap 52 and so it benefits drivers who stop late – and Perez can extend a stint length. he also has a good enough car underneath him.

Basically it’s a big value play but I think he should be higher than that and I’m fine with the risk.
