We’re coming in hot after a great betting experience in Bahrain in the F1s last race.

We correctly tipped Sebastian Vettel to win the Bahrain Grand Prix and also went with Esteban Ocon to finish in the points.

The Ocon one was a bit tight but end of the day it was winner, winner chicken dinner for us and especially at that price – it was a nice one.

We turn our attention to the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix now.

This race has taken place just 3 times and we’ve seen Lewis Hamilton win it twice, then Nico Rosberg win it last year. Last year was quite the start to it if you remember with many of the drivers just banging right into each other.

This is Hamiltons race however and his performances are incredible. I’ve always been impressed at what he can do on this circuit.

Let’s get to it:

Russian Grand Prix Winner: Lewis Hamilton

Hamilton has had 3 excellent performances here. He had to start 10th on the grid last year. I guarantee if not for that he would have won. Vettel has been doing quite well so far this season, and that’s going to push Hamilton on here to tie it up for wins at 2-2.

I think the price is great and we can thank Vettel for that – but I’m taking Hamilton to win this race for the 3rd time.

Fastest Qualifier: Valtteri Bottas

This is an interesting one as I earmarked him for this earlier in the week however he’s had some poor practises.

Despite that I think it’s worth a risk at the 6/1 price for Bottas to be the fastest qualifier. He’s never qualified lower than third here and has been outperforming both the car, and his teammate. I think we could see him pull off a surprise in his qualification. The fact that he began at 11/4 earlier in the week is a good sign in terms of this bet being +EV.

Podium Finish: Kimi Raikkonen

The last two years here we’ve seen at least one of the front runners hit some trouble. I don’t think there’s any doubt that Kimi is the 4th fastest driver from the front two teams. However if any of the other 3 have issues – and I’m betting they will – Kimi should hopefully be able to sneak his way onto a podium finish.

Long Shot Bet:

Finally our long shot bet and it’s a doozy. Ericsson to get in the points which is a whopping 20/1. Thing is you look at the history of this race and there’s around 5 retirements per race and a few penalties. All that pops up here the Saubers could be knocking on the doors.

Vandoorne is 7/1 in the McLaren but I feel he has a higher chance of being one of the retirements than getting into the points.
