The World Cup has had it’s share of ups and downs thus far. The defending champions Germany lost to Mexico in their first game and there are real questions about them heading forward. While Brazil, one of the favorites in this tournament, failed to beat the Swiss with that match ending in a tie. Another surprise tie was Iceland and Argentina.

That match had perhaps one of the bigger surprises of the tournament as the perhaps best player in the world, Lionel Messi, missed a penalty kick with 25 seconds left that could’ve won the game. The pressure is on him and his squad in this next game.

We have three early games today and will be focusing on the game that starts at 2pm Eastern time. Let’s get right into that one and the rest of today’s tips.

World Cup Betting Tips:

Everyone will be on Russia today because of their dominating performance against Saudi Arabia in the first game and with this essentially being a home game. The thing about that game though is that Saudi Arabia actually had more possession in the game and blew some really good chances. I think Egypt has a much better defensive set-up and the defense of the Russians leaves a lot to be desired. I could see Russian coming out sluggish and Egypt just playing their game.

With Egypt coming off a 1-0 game, I don’t feel a ton of confidence in them to dominate here either. This feels like a great place to bet a small unit on the Egypt/Russia draw. Great odds on that and a good match-up for it.

WNBA Betting Tips:

The Liberty take on the Dream today and things have not being going well for the Liberty as of late. They have had defensive struggles all season and have been blown out in each of the last two games. I could see this one being a third and will be taking the Dream +4.5 here.

The Sparks are one of the best teams in this league and are a huge favorite over the Indiana Fever today. While the Fever are just 1-10 on the year, they have played much tougher than that as they are 6-5 against the spread this year. I doubt they’ll win, but they should keep it close enough. Fever +14.5

MLB Betting Tips:

The most lopsided match-up of the day has to be the Astros taking on the Rays. While Blake Snell is having a great year, he’s a lefty going against the team that hits lefties better than anyone else. With Jose Altuve, George Springer and Carlos Correa on the other side, it’s tough for any lefty pitcher. Justin Verlander goes for the Astros and he’s having a Cy Young season as one of the best pitchers in baseball this year. Houston is the best in the league and the Rays are merely average. You know what to do, lay the runs. Bet Astros -1.5.

A game with slightly better odds that I don’t understand why is the Red Sox taking on the Twins. A very similar story here as the Red Sox are the top team in baseball against right handed starters and while Jose Berrios is having a good year, this is the Red Sox offense. They go against Chris Sale who is right there with Verlander as the best in the game. The Twins don’t hit lefties well and I don’t see why this one won’t come in. Bet Red Sox -1.5.
