Today is the day that we have been waiting for a very long time as the NBA Finals finally kick off. This season always felt like this rematch of the Cavs and the Warriors was inevitable and it turned out that way. The Thunder gave us a scare, the East didn’t and the Warriors won 73 games in the regular season, but the rematch of last year’s Finals is finally here. All the questions about whether last year’s win was a fluke due to the Cavs injuries will be answered and the “Lebron is a choker in the Finals” narrative can get revved up to an all-time high. That’s hardly fair considered the level of team he is facing this year (and the defensive level of his own team), but it is what it is. The pressure is on Cleveland and I think we’re in for a fight.

While the world has their eyes on the NBA, the baseball season will continue to grind on. We have a good slate tonight and have some nice picks for you. Let’s not waste any more time and get right into it.

MLB Betting Tips:

After flirting with the Wild Card last season, the Twins looked poised to make a move in the AL Central. Instead, they’ve been one of the worst teams in baseball. They’ve really struggled all season and are averaging just three runs per game against left handed starters this season. That is good news for the Rays and Matt Moore who have had struggles of their own early. Moore has pitched better than his 5.31 ERA and if he is able to keep the ball in the park today I think he’ll have success against the Twins. He’ll get a lot of help from Kyle Gibson and his 6.10 ERA on the other mound. Rays -117

Miami has taken the first two of the series against the Pirates and goes for the sweep today with lefty Wei-Yin Chin on the mound. It’s hard to picture the Pirates being swept by this team and the have a good chance to win this one. Pittsburgh has scored a shocking six runs per game against lefty starters. They have Juan Nicasio on the mound who has struggled in road starts this season, but the offensive difference in this one is just too big to ignore. Pirates +120 save the sweep today.

Ubaldo Jimenez is one of the very worst pitchers in baseball. The Boston Red Sox have an all-time great offense. Sometimes it’s just that simple. Boston -148.

NBA Betting Tips:

The Golden State Warriors had to play their highest level basketball to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder and even then they needed a few things to break right for them. The Cavs haven’t had to play their highest level basketball and probably don’t even know how to get there after cruising through the East in an embarrassing fashion. While I do think that the Cavs will get there, maybe even by halftime, it will be too little too late once the Oracle Arena gets rocking. The Warriors -6 are taking game one and the series.
