Hi all,

It’s Saturday and as always that means a hell of a lot of games in the NHL.

there are 12 games on the board tonight with a very busy schedule that kicks off at 2pm EST.

I’m going to go through each game and give my thoughts on them.

Let’s go:

Flyers vs Jackets: The Jackets are still battling for the #1 spot in the East although they do seem to be struggling to get motivation at times. The Capitals ran all over them in the last game. The Flyers just seem completely done with hockey at the moment – they’ve won some games of course but seem to be lacking any sort of drive. After two losses I like the Jackets to be motivated and will take Jackets in regulation.

Canucks vs Wild: It’s been a bad time for the Wild lately although a win tonight would give them a playoff spot. Honestly while I think the Wild get the win here the odds aren’t worth it for me.

Coyotes vs Capitals: The odds make this one a no-play. I do believe the Capitals will blow the Coyotes away but the stats don’t back that up enough to make it -1.5. The Capitals haven’t beaten the Coyotes by 2 goals since 2010. Just one of those matchups where they struggle against them and their style of play. Capitals may already be looking towards their big road trip and will underrestimate the Coyotes.

Islanders vs Bruins: A massive game between these two teams battling for the East wild card spot. The honeymoon period is over for the Bruins after the coaching change. This seems like it could be a barn burner of a game and I’m going to take the Over. I can’t see either team playing cautious or protective of a lead.

Blues vs Flames: The Flames have dropped a couple while the Blues have a solid winning run going. I think the Flames are going to go in with a nothing to lose offensive approach here. Their goalscoring has been weak on the road this season but I think they have just enough to help push this one to Over 5 Goals.

Hurricanes vs Devils: The Hurricanes are in beast mode out of nowhere but I just can’t back them. Devils have had two fighting performances in a row and I like the underdog Devils to pull off the upset at home. The odds are there and I just don’t think the Canes can make the playoffs. To be a playoff team they need to come here and come away with a win and I just don’t see it. Devils to win.

Blackhawks vs Panthers: I like the Blackhawks to win here however the Panthers could still sneak a wild card spot. It may be a bit hard for the Hawks to get motivation at the moment and I recommend no play here.

Senators vs Canadiens: This is the type of game where I think we’ll see a lot of cautious and defensive play. I can’t back anything here.

Leafs vs Sabres: The Leafs are showing that they’re made for the playoffs with gritty fighting wins against teams such as the Devils. I’d back them here however I’m not a fan of the odds. If you don’t mind betting lower odds take the Leafs.

Predators vs Sharks: The Sharks are an utter disaster at the moment. The price is right here for me to bet and tip the Predators to win incl OT/SO.

Oilers vs Avalanche: Oilers showed they have what it takes for the playoffs with a fighting win against the Avs. I expect them to show up confident here and that’s when they do their best. Oilers -1.5.

Rangers vs Kings: No play in this one. I think Kings sneak it but the odds aren’t there. I’d rather be on the Rangers at these odds to be honest.
