As we pass Thanksgiving in America, the NBA and NHL seasons start to become more fully realized. The match-ups start getting better, the games are on TV more often and the play gets better. Teams know who they are now and are beginning to think about trades that will make themselves better. If you’ve been in a football-only world or still hungover from baseball, now is the time to get into the other big two sports. Now is when it gets interesting.

There is a full slate of games on tonight in both the NBA and NHL. In the NBA, there is a pretty intriguing match-up with the Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz. The Rockets are one of the best offensive, fast paced playing teams in all of the NBA while the Jazz are one of the best defensive teams in the league. A great strength versus strength match-up tonight.

In the NHL, tonight is a great night to check out the future of the league as the Oilers and Leafs face off and it’s Connor McDavid versus Auston Matthews. These two are great young scorers who are truly changing the game right now. This one should be fun.

NBA Betting Tips:

The Detroit Pistons were expected to make a leap again this year, but they have been without Reggie Jackson early this season which has cost them dearly. He is practically their whole offense and smart teams have been able to exploit that. The Hornets are just about the smartest team in the league and it’s hard to see a way that Kemba Walker doesn’t go off tonight. This one is easy, Charlotte -2.5.

Mike D’Antoni’s first year with the Rockets has them cooking, they are currently 4th in the NBA in offensive rating and James Harden is putting up an MVP type season. The Jazz have been third in defensive rating, but their net rating (4.31) is nearly the same as Houston’s (4.42). This is a close game on paper and it should be a good one to watch. Houston should be able to keep their pace of play in this one, but perhaps at a lower efficiency. Utah is underrated as an offensive team and they can put up big points at a faster pace. This one just looks like a clear over 205 as both teams should be over 100.

NHL Betting Tips:

Auston Matthews has taken the NHL by storm and given Leafs fans hope for the future, but he hasn’t directly led to wins as this team just isn’t good at stopping the other team from scoring. Over the last ten meetings between these two teams there has been an average of six goals per game and it definitely feels like they are going to do that again tonight. Leafs and Oilers is going Over 5.5 goals.

The Bruins and Flyers face off tonight and that should be another game with big fireworks. Both of these teams are in the top 5 of shots per game and the Flyers are allowing 3.3 goals per game which has them at 29th in the league. This line feels low, over 5 goals.
