NFL Week Five is nearly in the books. We saw the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams extend their undefeated runs yesterday with some big wins. These teams look like locks for the playoffs and possible Super Bowl favorites. The Rams especially as their win over the Seahawks sent Seattle to 2-3 which gives them a 3-game lead in the division. Going out on a limb here and saying that they are definitely winning this division.

The week finishes up tonight with the Washington Redskins heading down to New Orleans to face the Saints. The Redskins are coming off a bye and are 2-1 on the season. The Saints have now won three straight with the offense really exploding over the past two weeks. This is a pretty solid game for Monday Night.

We also have the MLB Playoffs rolling on so we’ll have a couple of tips on those as well. Let’s get right into it.

Washington Redskins vs. New Orleans Saints Betting Tips:

The Redskins are coming off a bye here which is often a recipe for success, but they are still a road underdog in this one and road underdogs don’t fare as well off the bye as in other situations. It’s almost like good teams win more often than bad ones.

The key to this match-up will be the run game. Washington allowed 100+ rushing yards in each of their past two games and that is bad news if the Saints are able to do that. Mark Ingram will be back for this one and he’ll team with Alvin Kamara to form a dangerous threat in the backfield, both rushing and receiving. They’ve had 143 or more rushing yards in each of the past two weeks, if they do that here they should most definitely win this game.

Adrian Peterson is having quite the revival this year with 236 rushing yards in three games. The Saints defense hasn’t allowed over 93 yards in their three wins and that will be key to getting the win here. I think they’ll handle him here and keep his totals low. That’ll leave the brunt of this on Kirk Cousins and that’s a gameplan I like for the Saints.

MLB Playoffs Betting Tips:

The Yankees and Red Sox continue their series tonight. The Yankees getting the win in game two has them as the favorite in the series now. This is an interesting match-up as the Yanks send their best pitcher in Luis Severino while the Red Sox send their third (or fourth) starter in Nathan Eovaldi.

Eovaldi actually had a ton of success against the Yankees this season while Severino looked a bit more human than he normally does against Boston. The books aren’t buying it and the Yankees are a big -180 favorite for this one. This game could decide the series and I think that both teams realize that. I am expecting a war and for this to be a close one.

The Red Sox were the best team all season and they are a huge underdog here. I feel like the best value is to take them with the runs.

Bet Red Sox +1.5 (-135)
