April 18th, 2019 Europa League Tips

Well Tuesdays UEFA Champions League games were a massive disappointment from a betting perspective, and boy was that Man Utd vs Barcelona game disappointment from a viewing perspective.

We had Both Teams to Score in that one. Solksjaer is getting a bit of flack for his tactics in that one. It wasn’t the best performance from Man Utd but my god – what a player Messi is. Just so good.

We had Juventus to win in 90 minutes and a huge shock there as they lost to Ajax. Major props to Ajax for that one. Always nice to see the apple cart upset.

For Thursday, April 18th I’ll be looking at the Europa League action going on and tipping that so let’s get to it. Going to give my thoughts on each game:

Chelsea vs Slavia Prague Betting Tips:

Chelsea won the first leg with a solid 1-0 victory. Now they return home where they perform very, very well.

I’d like to see Slavia Prague attack here and push desperately for the win. Domestically they’ve basically won the title so this is all that’s left for their fans in terms of what to care about for the season.

However Chelsea have lost out on the league title and whle domestically it will be a battle, I think we’ll see a strong and controlled defensive performance from Chelsea.

Eintract Frankfurt vs Benfica Betting Tips:

We had a belter of a game in the first leg with Benfica winning 4-2. Great game that and so much talent on display.

Frankfurt will feel sad losing that won after they were able to bypass Inter Milan in the previous round. In saying that, Benfica are a quality team.

I’m hoping for another good game in this one but I just feel there is a gulf in quality. Frankfurt come into this off the back of a tough 3-1 loss to Augburg while Benfica contunue to be on a roll.

Napoli vs Arsenal Betting Tips:

Napoli come into this one on the back of that 3-1 loss to Salzburg then the 2-0 loss to Arsenal. Arsenal however have been a bit iffy away with a 1-0 loss to BATE Borisov and a 3-1 loss to Rennes.

Arsenal were all over them in the first leg but I see a different performance here. Napli are excellent at home.

Valencia vs Villareal Betting Tips:

The first leg saw Valencia win 3-1. I can’t see anything differently here. Yeah they can sit back but Valencia are a proud and solid team who are quite simply much better than Villarreal.
