We are getting to the point in the sports calendar when there is a lot going on. We are just a couple weeks away from college basketball becoming the center of the sports universe, the NBA and NHL playing down the stretch, and the MLB games starting to matter. Forget Christmas, this is truly the most wonderful time of the year.

We have more action than any one person could possibly watch on the slate tonight. I’ve selected a few of my favorite games to bet on and those tips are below.

NHL Betting Tips:

Montreal Canadiens at Detroit Red Wings: The Habs let us down last night, but I think they bounce back strong here. The Wings have lost their last five games and the deadline saw them trade away two of their betting players in Gustav Nyquist and Nick Jensen. The Wings need to keep winning to maintain their playoff postion and the Wings are in a great position to give them that win. They stink.

Bet Montreal -130

Dallas Stars at Las Vegas Knights: You have to feel bad for the Stars here. They went big at the deadline, acquiring Mats Zuccarello, but he played one game and broke his arm. They are also without Jamie Benn for this one and the luck is not on their side. Vegas has been playing well and we all know how difficult it is to play at Vegas. Just feels like all signs are pointing at the Knights here.

Bet Las Vegas -130 (in regulation)

College Basketball Betting Tips:

Duke at Virginia Tech: So Duke lost Zion Williamson to an injury and now we’re just supposed to forget about them? Yeah, they are favored here but -4 for them is like +6 for most teams. Zion is a big loss and I hope that he’s alright and finds a decent pair of shoes, but this is still one of the best recruiting classes we’ve seen in a long time and the rest of the gang should be able to pick up the slack. VT is a solid squad, but I just don’t see them on this level.

Bet Duke -4

NBA Betting Tips:

The big match-up tonight is the Boston Celtics heading to Toronto to take on the Raptors. In the preseason, many people thought that it would be the Celtics and Sixers battling it out for East supremacy, but the Bucks and Raptors have had other ideas. Currently, the Celtics are in the fifth seed in the East and need to get a move on if they want to avoid not having home court advantage.

The thing is, maybe they just aren’t that good. The Celtics have real chemistry issues which is something you can’t say about this Raptors team. They have played outstanding at home this year and I don’t see them looking to relinquish their place near the top of the East to this team. Raptors look like an outstanding play here tonight.

Bet Raptors -4
