Wednesday at SBT means just one thing – golf tips!

Well until the golf season is over with that is.

Unfortunately we couldn’t make it two cashes in a row last week although hell we came mighty close.

We had Sungjae Im in the Amex Championship hoping for a Top 5 finish. He came close there but ultimately ended up tied in 10th place, a couple strokes out.

We also had Paul Waring, who was 75/1 to win, in contention. For Paul all we needed was a Top 10 finish. However he was just one stroke away from that cash. Disappoitning but oh well.

It’s the second week in a row where someones odds just weren’t good enough for me to back them, and they finished in a place. Two weeks ago it was Kisner and last week it was Fitzpatrick who was 2nd in the Abu Dhabi.

Oh well it is what it is. Let’s get on with this weeks tips. I’m covering the Farmers Insurance Open and the Dubai Desert Classic.

Dubai Desert Classic Bets:

I’ve got four bets on this one.

The first is my big play – the 20/1 Sergio Garcia. I’ll be taking him at 20/1 to win/top 5 with a 3u bet. Just a super good price for a top quality golfer who has excellent course form and looked good last year despite no Callaway.

Then I’ve got a 2u play on last weeks contender, Paul Waring. 50/1 odds for him, to win and Top 5 as per usual. Doesn’t have the best course form but stands out enough for me here.

Then I have two 1u plays both to win and top 5. The 35/1 Erik Van Rooyen and the 25/1 Bernd Wiesberger. Van Rooyen is on form and I think he can do well on this course. He didn’t do well last year but that’s okay. I like the golfer he is evolving into. Wiesberger is an excellent golfer and at that price it’s easy value. Also has a couple of good finishes on this course too.

Farmers Insurance Bets:

All to win and top 5. The first three are 2u bets.

They are Gary Woodland 25/1, Ryan Palmer 55/1, Lanto Griffin 60/1. Woodland has great form at the moment and performed well here previously. I mean that dude should have won about 6 years ago. I still remember the way he lost that one and I think ended up finishing 10th. Brutal.

Palmer is a popular pick this week but it makes sense. Played very well here last year, his driving will be a big factor here.

Finally Lanto Griffin is someone who performed well here previously and also last time out. I believe he might have came here early so won’t be bothered with jet lag.

Finally 1u plays on Bud Cauley at 80/1 and Billy Horschel at 66/1.
