Last night was a good night for the road teams as both the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots pulled off late comebacks to win their way to the Super Bowl. Both of these games went to overtime and were definitely filled with drama.

The Chiefs will definitely be back as Patrick Mahomes is one of the best young quarterbacks in this league. Andy Reid with another playoff loss can’t feel too good for Chiefs fans though. It’s pretty amazing that the Patriots are back in the Super Bowl again. This is the record 9th Super Bowl appearance for the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era and their third straight. Just an absolute dynasty.

New Orleans might not be back, at least as they are currently aligned. Drew Brees turned 40 this year and his future is definitely in question. It’s been an outstanding career and the loss here won’t take away from that, but it would’ve been a nice fairy tale ending for him to make the Super Bowl once again.

The Rams and Patriots should be a great Super Bowl and I’m sure we’ll have more on it in the days to come.

NHL Betting Tips:

This line is a bit higher than I normally like to go, but I really like Golden Knights -163 tonight. Minnesota has had their fair share of struggles this season and we know that away teams at Vegas can be trouble. The Knights are really playing some of their best hockey of the year right now with an 8-2 record of their past ten games.

NBA Betting Tips:

The NBA always goes all out for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and there are 11 games on the schedule for today.

One game that I am looking for is the Sacramento Kings at Brooklyn Nets. This one starts at 3:35 Eastern time and I think that is a going to be a big factor for the Kings. NBA players are nocturnal creatures and since they are a California team this is more like a 12:30 PM game for them. A lot of these guys probably don’t even wake up til then. Throw in the Nets solid home record and their recent play, and I like the Nets quite a bit here. Nets -3 is a great bet here.

The Miami Heat always give Boston trouble. Five of their past six games between the two teams have been decided by six points or less. The only one that didn’t fit that criteria would be the last one, earlier this month, where the Heat put a beat down on the Celtics. That game caused some drama within the club and I think the Heat struggles should continue here. For whatever reason, the Celtics are a huge favorite here and I just don’t see it. Not with the recent results and the Heat +8.5 look great here.

Los Angeles is still without LeBron James and now they’ve lost Lonzo Ball too. The Warriors are a huge favorite on the road here, but it’s hard not to like them. They are really playing well of late and the Lakers are falling apart. Warriors -12 is not a bad play.
