We are now just six days away from selection Sunday when we find out the seedings for the 2019 NCAA Tournament. There are a couple smaller level tournaments that have started already, but the rest of them start between now and Thursday. Tournaments of interest, courtesy of are March Sports Calendar:
March 12-16: ACC Tournament
March 13-16: Big East
March 13-16: Big 12
March 13-17: Big Ten
March 13-16: Pac-12
March 13-17: SEC
We should have more on the tournaments as they go along.
For now, we concentrate on the NBA as teams vye for seeding in the playoffs. The Warriors and Bucks are looking locked in atop their respective conferences, but anything can happen. Golden State had a huge win over the Nuggets last week which should help in distancing, but the lead is still only 1.5 games.
Milwaukee’s March schedule is brutal as we saw yesterday with their third game in four nights loss to the Spurs. They hold a two-game lead over the Raptors for the top seed in the East, but they do hold the tiebreaker.
NBA Betting Tips:
Detroit Pistons at Brooklyn Nets: This game has playoff implications as the Pistons currently hold a 0.5 game lead over the Nets for the sixth seed in the East. It’s cool to see these teams in a game with playoff implications after their struggles over the past few seasons. Detroit has especially made a fun turnaround, even within this season, and have looked downright dangerous of late. They are team with a lot of veterans who have experience in the playoffs and in big games, and I expect them to bring that here.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz: The Jazz are a 1.5 games back of that cluster 3-5 in the Western Conference and you know they’d love to get in that conversation for home court advantage. The Thunder have struggled of late with Paul George having injuries and such while the Jazz are always a really tough beat at home. George is back for this one, but I still really like Utah here. They have lost all three to OKC this season and I just feel like them being motivated by that and the playoff seeding.
NHL Betting Tips:
Tonight is a great night for overs as there are a couple of games that I see going crazy with the goals.
Tampa Bay Lightning at Toronto Maple Leafs: Looking for a good over? How about the #1 offense in the league vs. the #3 offense in the league? The Lightning clinched the playoffs recently, but it’s far too early in the season for them to pump the brakes and I expect this game to be the type of display you expect between two teams of this caliber.
Bet Leafs/Lightning Over 6.5 Goals
Phoenix Coyotes at Chicago Blackhawks: If you are looking for goals in this league, you could do a lot worse than just going with the Hawks game every night. Especially when they play the Coyotes. Over the last 10 games between these teams there has been an average of 7.10 goals per game. That is a huge number and an easy over bet on this one.
