Welcome to todays sports betting tips.

As always on Wednesdays, we like to cover the golf. I’ll also do analysis of all 3 NHL games tonight although it’s really slim pickings today with two insanely heavy favourites.

We didn’t have any golf winners last week unfortunately. We came close with Rickie Fowler who had a tremendous first two days and was leading at the end of round 2. Unfortunately Fowler struggled on the 3rd day and that cost him. Although he got a top 10 finish it wasn’t enough for us.

Always frustrating seeing one bad day ruin it all.

Let’s get to this weeks:

WGC Cadillac Championship Picks:

First WGC event of the year and it’s going to be a great one to watch. The top two, McIlroy and Spieth, are of course participating and that should make it a great event to watch. This year it’s really fun actually looking at the golfers because there’s just so many possibilities in it.

This course had a big redesign recently which has changed things up a bit and so when it comes to course history the important years are the last two. We wouldn’t focus much on anything before that.

Last year we had success here with Bubba Watson on a top 5 finish as shown below:

bubba-watson-win

Hopefully we can get that going again.

We are backing Top 5 Finish for Bubba again. The odds on this one are 3.25. We’re just not confident that Watson can win this despite his history at this course. Last year he was a nice 16/1 but the lower odds don’t make the E/W worth betting this year. We think Bubba will be among the top guys though.

One more pick is the same one of Top 5 Finish – this time for Dustin Johnson. DJ has proven himself on this course previously and he’s got some solid form going including that 4th place at the NTO. Let’s hope he continues it this time.

HSBC Women’s Champions Picks:

Absolutely have to take Lydia Ko to get her first win of the year. We’re also going to take Stacy Lewis and have her to win and beat it each way as well. Not too happy with her form at the moment to be honest but she’s performed well here in the past.

NHL Betting Picks:

Capitals vs Leafs: Absolutely shocking odds on the Leafs tonight. What makes it worse is even though the Capitals are 1.33 odds the Leafs +1.5 is only 1.76. The Capitals haven’t been good at putting teams away recently but the Leafs just can’t score to save themselves. We’d have to take Capitals -1.5 here and hope that the feisty young Leafs players get dominated by the skill of the Capitals.

Blackhawks vs Red Wings: This is a very tricky game but the Blackhawks mean serious business with all the trades they’ve did lately. They’re looking for a solid roster of players to be able to contribute no matter the line out there and keep things going at a fast pace. The Wings are solid at home but we’ll take the Blackhawks tonight.

Canadiens vs Ducks: The Habs got blown out by the Sharks and I expect more of the same. Take the Ducks in regulation here.
