Women’s World Cup 2019 Tips: June 12th

Well that Argentina vs Japan game was a big disappointment.

There was a lot of expectations on Japan. I wasn’t confident enough to back them -2 but I did think they’d score early and that’d open up the scoring to allow the BTTS to sneak in there. Alas that didn’t happen but luckily it was just a 0.5u play so not the end of the world.

Argentina did a solid job at defending and that will be interesting going forward. They played for the draw and accomplished it. It was a disciplined defence that Japan just couldn’t break through.

Will be interesting seeing how both teams perform next.

For Wednesday, June 12th it’s the 2nd round of group matches.

Let’s get to it:

Nigeria vs South Korea Betting Tips:

Nigeria got thumped 3-0 by Norway in the first game of the World Cup. They actually looked okay to start with but then Norway got a goal 17 minutes in and Nigeria seemed to deflate. Norway scored two more and that was all she wrote. They did look a bit more solid in the 2nd half although that could be Norway just sitting back.

South Korea were thumped 4-0 by the hosts France.

South Korea go into this one as slight favourites at 2.00 odds.

Maybe I’m crazy but I think Nigeria have a solid chance here. I AM a bit concerned with the way they turned off after conceding that goal, but I was happy with the tactical changes they made. I mean they still racked up the shots while Korea didn’t get a shot until there was 20 minutes left against France.

Korea ARE on paper a better squad but I think there’s enough of a chance they don’t get the win here.

Germany vs Spain Betting Tips:

Nice that we’re getting games with close odds. Germany are 1.80 to win here.

They were expected to blow China away but then had their own issues in what was an intense game. They lost the plot in the first half but got things sorted in the second and won 1-0.

Spain vs South Africa was one of my favourite games of the tournament. Just a thrilling game and Spain relied on two penalties to get the win.

Personally I really liked Germany. I think they were organized and I think there was jitters – they truly expected to be dominant and I think that threw them. I don’t think we see that mess of a defense again.

France vs Norway Betting Tips:

Both France and Norway won their games with ease as I covered above.

It’s an interesting one. France looked good on all fronts and had a sturdy defense. Norway ditto.

France are on paper the better team but feel slightly overvalued.

I’m honestly all over the place with this one. France to win to nil, Both Teams to Score etc. I really am not sure what to expect.

I’m going to just go with the one with the most value instead in a nice casual bet.
