The big news in the NFL tonight is that Johnny Football (aka Johnny Manziel) will be getting the start for the Browns tonight against the Bengals. Manziel came into the league with a lot of hype surrounding him after his big years at Texas A&M, but has been pretty much a disaster since entering the NFL. It makes you wonder if his big years in college had more to do with his offensive system (Texas A&M is still scoring huge points) and his teammates (Mike Evans was huge for him) than his actual talent level. We’ll get a possible answer to that tonight as he goes against a tough Bengals defense.

Thursday always brings us some great NBA match-ups as well and tonight is no exception as the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Chicago Bulls. These are two of the top contenders in their conferences and a possible, albeit unlikely, Finals match-up. It is a classic match-up of offense versus defense. We know the Thunder will always find a way to score, no matter who the opponent. Can the Bulls keep up?

Of course, there is also a full slate of college football games as well tonight as Thursday has become a great night of college action. Baylor and their 61 points per game average plays Kansas State tonight as Baylor looks to stay undefeated.

NFL Betting Tips:

It sounds crazy to say when the line is -11, but I don’t think this one is high enough. Cincinnati is undefeated and one the best teams in the league. They’ve had at least one turnover in every game this season and I fully expect Johnny Manziel to help continue that trend for them. Turnovers lead to points and this one won’t be close at all. Come on, NFL. Give us something worth watching on Thursdays. Bengals -11 in a rout.

College Football Betting Tips:

Undefeated Baylor suffered a huge loss when their quarterback Seth Russell injured his neck. He’s out and Jarrett Stidham draws the start tonight. They had a bye week to prepare so he should feel comfortable in the offense. Plus, Baylor has been involved in so many blowouts this year that he’s seen action in all seven games. In his limited role he’s thrown 24 of 28 for 331 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. So, don’t expect a huge drop-off from Baylor today. The K-State offense has really struggled of late, only scoring 9 points in it’s past two games.

Despite that, we are taking over 67.5. From what we’ve seen thus far this season Baylor could probably get there themselves and very little is needed from the K-State side to get there. Although they have played Baylor tough over the past two seasons. We’re expecting a game with lots of college football’s trademark Thursday fireworks here.

Fresno State has been giving up huge points to opposing teams all season long, allowing nearly 41 points per game, and tonight against Nevada should be no different. Nevada -4 is a strong play in the late game.

NBA Betting Tips:

Tonight’s Thunder/Bulls game is the highlight of the night. The Bulls are coming off a surprising 25 point loss to the lowly Hornets on Tuesday so they should be properly motivated for tonight’s nationally televised game. While the Thunder are on their own little slide with consecutive losses to Houston and Toronto. I’m expecting the A-Game of both teams tonight which is what makes this game so intriguing. The total on this one keeps going up and up which I don’t fully get. Tonight seems like both teams will try to lock down on defense and make it close. Feels like a 102-100 type of game which has us taking under 211. It will be close and the winner is a coinflip of who’s shooting well, but I don’t think either team is going to post huge offensive numbers or high shooting percentages tonight.

The Miami Heat will be the best team the Timberwolves have played all season which should have them in for a rude awakening. When the best team you’ve played is Portland, you’ve got an easy early schedule. Even without Wade, we expect the Heat -3.5 to roll in this one.
