What was the story of last weekend’s English Premiership action? Well, it can be only one thing, and that was Jamie Vardy getting on the scoresheet once again, this time against Manchester United in Leicester’s 1-1 draw. Vardy just continues to make headlines, and it’s for all the right reasons, which is a great advert for the English Premiership, unlike the exploits of some other players in the past. Leicester are away to Swansea this weekend, so it looks, on paper, to be another great chance for Vardy to continue his run, since Swansea haven’t been known for keeping a tight ship this season.

After the debacle of Week 13’s poor results for Lawro, we hoped that he would be back on track with a nice win. Could he do it? Could hell. Lawro managed to get 4 correct results, no correct scores and ended up costing us a packet. But what results did Lawro predict correctly last week? Well, Manchester City and Liverpool, obviously, and Sunderland, as well as the draw for Tottenham and Chelsea. So we ended up with a loss of -10.26 units, which takes our entire season’s worth of profit down to +4.25 units. This isn’t what us dedicated followers of Lawro had been hoping for as we entered the final few weeks of 2015. He needs to get his finger out and stop predicting 2-0 wins for the banker teams and 1-1 draws for evenly matched sides!

As I have done for the past few weeks, I wanted to stop you before we get to what you came here for, Mark Lawrenson’s predictions for this week’s English Premiership fixtures. As usual, we can’t forget that our friends at Bet365 are doing their Bore Draw promotion again this week. Remember, if you place a bet of up to on any of the correct score, half-time/full-time or scorecast markets, and the game finishes 0-0, Bet365 will refund your money. So once you’ve looked at Lawro’s tips, head on over to our good friends at Bet365 and get your money down.

Stoke vs Manchester City

The early Saturday kick-off sees a tricky trip to Stoke for the league leaders. But we don’t care about that, what we care about it where Lawro thinks the points will go. Well, it’s no surprise that he’s going for a Manchester City win, and for avid readers of this column, the correct score prediction will be no surprise either. That’s right, Lawro is going for a 2-0 win. The home win is a quite tasty-looking 4/6 and the correct score pays 15/2.

But why not use the early kick-off to have a bet and use Bet365’s Bore Draw promotion? Head on over to Bet365 and get involved. Yeah, Manchester City should win, but if Stoke shut up shop, you might just get the bore draw than Bet365 will refund your stakes on.

Arsenal vs Sunderland

Arsenal are looking to stop a run of dodgy results in the league, and what better way than playing Sunderland? Well, actually, Sunderland are in form, and Arsenal are riddled with injuries, so stranger things have happened. But Lawro thinks no shock here, and will go for a home win. And, no surprise again that he’s going for a 2-0 win. Anyone hoping for a change in Lawro’s tactics is going to be sorely disappointed. Anyway, an Arsenal win is 2/9 and the correct score is 11/2. No value in the obvious Arsenal win, but hey, get on the correct score instead!

Manchester United vs West Ham

Remember when it was ‘Boring, boring Arsenal’? Well, replace Arsenal with Manchester United now, thanks. But they’re in the Champions League places, which is nice. Anyway, Lawro is going for the obvious home win again, and the obvious correct score of 2-0. It’s 2/5 for the home win and it’s 11/2 for the correct score. Yeah, the Manchester United defence is stingy, but can they score two goals? Possibly. Maybe dutch the 1-0 and 2-0 scorelines here.

Southampton vs Aston Villa

Aston Villa looked terrible last week. Seriously. Lawro doesn’t think they’re going to get any better this week and is going for a 2-0 win for Southampton. It’s 4/9 for the home win and 6/1 for the correct score. See, this is why Lawro’s template for a 2-0 win is no good. If Southampton show up in any kind of form, it could be another thumping for Aston Villa. 4-0 looks good to me.

Swansea vs Leicester

Will history continue to be made at Swansea? Will Jamie Vardy get on the scoresheet and cement his place in the history books? Well, if he does score, Lawro doesn’t think he’s going to be on the winning side. He’s going for a 2-1 win for Swansea. Seriously, I saw this every week, but he just hates Leicester. In fact, according to his stats, he’s only picked Leicester to win twice this season. Anyway, it’s 7/4 for the Swansea win and it’s 10/1 for the correct score. As you know, I’m all about Leicester this season, and I’m saying 3-1 to the Foxes.

Watford vs Norwich

Interesting game this, with Watford looking decent as of late and just being a bit unlucky at times. Norwich got a big point at Arsenal last Sunday, and they looked in decent enough nick, too. But Lawro is not sitting on the fence here and is going for a 2-1 to Watford. The price for a Watford win is 21/20 and the correct score price is 17/2. I’m liking Watford lately, so, yeah, 2-1 looks good to me.

West Brom vs Tottenham

Things are getting interesting here for Lawro. Spurs are one of the form teams in the league, they’re on a great run, but Lawro is thinking it’s going to come to an end at the Hawtornes with a 1-0 win to West Brom. West Brom are a huge price of 7/2, and the correct score is 11/1. For me, I’ll go with a draw.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Any guesses for what Lawro has gone for here? Yeah, if you said a 2-0 win for Chelsea, you’d be right. 4/11 for the home win and 13/2 for the correct score. I think we’re going to see Chelsea run rampant here. Bournemouth let too many shots fly past their defence, they concede too many and Chelsea will be buzzing for this at home. Another 4-0 for me looks likely.

Newcastle vs Liverpool

It doesn’t look good for Newcastle, does it? Liverpool put 6 past Stoke away, and now they’re coming to play a defence that is just utterly woeful. Lawro is obviously taking the Liverpool 2-0 win here. But Liverpool are a skinny 4/7 and the correct score is a terribly short 15/2. I can’t see past a Liverpool win, Jurgen Klopp has them firing and Newcastle are dire. But the prices are just too skinny for me.

Everton vs Crystal Palace

Last game of the week and it’s Monday Night Football without Gary Neville! How many times have Crystal Palace played on a Monday this season? It seems like it’s almost every week! And if it’s not them, it’s Everton. Lawro, with his obvious love for Everton, sees this game as being a 1-1. The correct score pays 6/1 and the draw pays 5/2. Yawn! Any do you know what to do if you think it’s going to be a snoozefest? Yeah, get on Bet365’s Bore Draw promotion. Head on over to Bet365 and get involved. It’s not going to be exciting, so get your money back when it’s a Bore Draw!

Not a bad week for fixtures, with a few results that look like bankers, but then we have seen a few shocks in recent weeks, especially with Arsenal. Surely the Gunners can get back to winning ways, but then Sunderland have actually hit a patch of form, but Arsene Wenger’s side surely can’t have another shocking result. Chelsea are another side that look to be a banker result this weekend, since Bournemouth ship goals like no-one’s business. But, hey, strangers things have happened with them this season.
