It was a good winning night for us in both the NHL and NBA.
In the NHL, we went 1-1 with the two value bets, but the Wild value bet was 3.10 odds to profit us by a nice 1.10 units. The Penguins value bet, while it lost, was still easily the right one to make.
And what a game that was with the Sens vs Habs. No-one would have predicted that. Imagine us coming out here yesterday saying “Yeah take Sens -3.5”??? People would think we were crazy.
In the NBA, we went 2-1. The Clippers decided to take a deserved night off. Unfortunately they did that while they had a game to play. Oops. We thankfully won with our other bets of the Rockets winning, and the Wizards covering the spread.
Lot of action tonight. Playoff action continues, and we’ve also got UFC 186. Let’s get to that highly anticipated(cough) PPV first:
UFC 186 Betting Tips:
We’re all over Fabio Maldonado, a whopping +245 against Jackson. Jackson has been training since the fight was called off – but not to the degree you would expect going into a fight. It’s already at a catchweight, and honestly we just don’t rate Jackson anymore. We think he’s past it – and while we’d love to be proven wrong by having BEAST MODE Jackson show up – yeah, we expect Maldonado to take this one.
Also like the main event of Johnson vs Horiguchi having a finish. Johnson should dominate, and most likely get a submission. But then Horiguchi has that punchers chance. Either way, +100 for under 4.5 rounds is a great price for this one.
NHL Playoff Betting Tips:
Capitals vs Islanders looks to be a good game to bet Over 5 goals. Hard not to see that happening. Islanders fighting for their life but their defense is shot.
Also like to see Lightning take the lead in their series – and if they do it, it’s most likely in dominant fashion. Based on that, we have to go with Tampa Bay Lightning to win in regulation as the odds for overtime win are not good.
Finally, we’ve got to go with Over 5 goals in the Blackhawks vs Predators game. Based on the Hawks goalie issues, but their strong offense and the way this series has gone so far – it’s a no brainer.
NBA Playoff Betting Tips:
We liked the Nets in the last game. They were feisty – very feisty. They look like they are due a win, or at least are going to keep the game close. So go with Brooklyn Nets +4.5 today in their game vs the Atlanta Hawks.
We also think it’s time for the Bulls to easily wrap up their series. After that last game – Bucks will have nothing left in the tank. So also go with Bucks -4.5.
