A lot of sports going on today with the WGC Bridgestone Invitational kicking off today. Our picks from yesterday are still in it with both Dustin Johnson and Keegan Bradley posting -1 on the first round. Nothing exceptional, but they are right in the think of things after the opening day. This is a tough course so don’t expect too many insanely low rounds from anyone.

We also have some CFL action tonight as the Eskimos of Edmonton takes on the B.C. Lions. Edmonton is red hot right now with the best defense in the league. We’ll have more on them later. Plus, we have plenty of baseball. Today is a travel today so many games have already started, but there is still a full slate of game’s tonight that we like. Plenty of betting action to get in on so let’s get to work.

MLB Betting Tips:

The Giants head to Chicago to take on the Cubs today and unfortunately with them they’re likely to be without Buster Posey who has been a strong MVP candidate this season. The Giants are simply not the same team without Posey in the lineup and while today’s game should have been seen as an evenly matched affair, without Posey we have to give the edge to the Cubs this one. With Jason Hammel on the mound they should do well today shutting down the Posey-less Giants and grab the win. Cubs -120 is the play here.

If you are looking for a game to watch and love the homerun, you can’t do much worse than the Yankees and Red Sox. While this year’s game lacks some of the bad blood that past year’s games have had, it should still feature plenty of fireworks. The formerly great CC Sabathia goes for the Yankees and he’s been a mess at home this season. He has a 6.80 ERA at home with 8 homeruns allowed in 8 starts. He goes against Eduardo Rodriguez who has really struggled lately. In his last three starts he has a 7.24 ERA with 15 hits and 3 homeruns allowed. This game will feature some serious run scoring and over 9 runs is a great play.

For a game without as much hitting you should go with the Braves versus the Marlins. These are two offenses that are really struggling and they should make their pitchers look better than they are. This one should go under 7.5 runs and put people to sleep throughout Atlanta and Miami.

CFL Betting Tips:

Edmonton is one of the hottest teams in the CFL right now having won four straight and sporting the best defense in the CFL this season. They face a BC Lions team that has lost two straight and is struggling to find an identity. The Eskimos are a -2.5 road favorite in this one and you have to think the line should be higher. The Eskies last two wins have come against the winless Riders so maybe that’s why the bookmakers are doubting them here. Don’t let them. Edmonton -2.5 is a steal.
