A 1-0 record last night.

Graeme had a wonderful play last night with the Heat +3.5 on the schedule alert. He one-upped things by taking the Rockets in the first quarter and the Heat overall. Well, the Rockets won the first quarter 33-21. The Heat took over from there and ended up winning the game by two, while getting points at home.

The Rockets are in a bad place right now as Chris Paul went down with an injury. His left hamstring strain will keep him out for awhile and this team has been far worse without him this season. How they bounce back from this will be interesting as they are in need of some sort of trade, but they don’t have a ton of assets and there aren’t many sellers. Imagine that team missing the playoffs, wow.

A typical full slate for Friday, let’s see what we have to work with.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors: This looks like a slam dunk win for the Raps, but there are a couple red flags. The Cavs have been playing much better basketball of late, they are 4-3 against the spread over their past seven. The Raps will be without Kyle Lowry tonight and Serge Ibaka is listed as questionable. Suddenly, that -12.5 looks like twenty.

Utah Jazz vs. Portland Trail Blazers: I want to take the Blazers here, but I just don’t trust it. The Jazz are 2-4 over their past six games, but they are also coming off a win against Golden State. Portland’s home court is fantastic with a 12-4 record. There is just something about the Jazz here that is scaring me off.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Anthony Davis is listed as questionable here. You have to imagine the LeBron James and the Lakers will want to show off to audition for their potential future teammate. The Lakers have lost three of the past four (although all were on the road). There is a back-to-back with these two teams playing each other so it feels like one takes one and the other takes the other. I like the Lakers, but that unique situation has me off them.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. San Antonio Spurs Betting Tips:

After having a nice run post-Jimmy Butler trade, the Wolves have now lost five of their past six games. Their defense has been nice and their rating numbers look great, but this team just isn’t a contender in my mind. They have one of the worst road records in the league at 2-12.

The Spurs burned me recently and I’ve been holding it against them, but including that game they’ve won six of their past seven games. All of those wins have been huge too with the closest game being by 13. Over the past ten games this has been one of the most efficient offenses and a solid defense. They are always a tough home team and are 12-5 in San Antonio this season. This team definitely has flaws, but they make their record beating teams like this and I think they do it tonight.
