Well a brutal one yesterday in France as Nice lost to Nimes 3-1. They took the lead early and it was looking good. Nimes managed to tie it up just before the half however I was still feeling good about that one going into the second half. Then Boudaoui got sent off for Nice 3 minutes in and it changed the whole game.
Brutal.
Nimes scored shortly after then added insult to injury with an injury time goal.
We did win our “BTTS = No” bet in the Marseille game as Marseille won 1-0 so there’s that. Always sucks when a bet loses due to something like a red card or a penalty or whatever though. Frustrating.
Sunday in Serie A we’re 1-0 right now with Sassuolo beating SPAL. That put me in a MUCH better mood as variance went our way. That was a bet I said yesterday I didn’t want to make but the value was too much to ignore. Well Sassuolo went down 1-0 in the first half and I was angry at myself. However they got a penalty to tie it up 1-1, then scored a 90 minute goal that had me dancing. Nice little 2.45 win. Now let’s hope for a cracking Milan derby.
Not much taking place on Monday so I’ll look ahead to Tuesday. There is England lower league action taking place. We’ll look at League One and then tomorrow I may tackle the Championship. It’s tight at the top in League One with a lot of teams battling for both playoff and automatic promotion. The relegation battle isn’t as tight with Tranmere, Southend and Bolton looking like they may go down.
Coventry City vs Portsmouth Betting Tips:
Both teams are battling for promotion. Coventry are 4th and Portsmouth 5th.
Coventry are in great form right now and haven’t lost in 8 games. Portsmouth however are also on a good run with 3 wins on the trot away.
Both teams rank high on the xG charts. Portsmouth are usually a bit better there and that’s reflected in their 3 more goals scored than Coventry.
Both defenses are among the best in the league however this is a six pointer for both teams and I’m hoping they take the initiative.
The one worry is that if there isn’t an early goal, as the game goes on both teams will be content with the point.
Portsmouth defensively come into this one on the back of 4 clean sheets. That’s quite impressive but I think that ends here.
I like both teams to get on the scoresheet.

Blackpool vs Gillingham Betting Tips:
An interesting one. Blackpool finally ended their bad run with a 2-1 win over Southend. The damage has been done however and they won’t be making promotion. Another year in League One for them.
Gillingham are probably in the same boat as they just can’t win a game. Draw specialists with 13 draws in 29 games. 10 of them are away.
It’s one of those where you have to look at the draw and whether it’s got value and I do believe this on this one. Gillingham lack the killer instinct but have the ability to keep Blackpool at bay.
