This week in the Formula 1, we have the F1 Malaysian Grand Prix.

It takes place this Sunday, October 1st at the Sepang Circuit. Can’t wait to wake up at 3am for this one!

Following that it’s a fast turnaround with the Japanese Grand Prix next week. That’s Thanksgiving here in Canada and it’s a 1am start time for me. Can’t wait to explain why I’m so tired at Thanksgiving dinner.

We go into the Malaysian Grand Prix with Sebastian Vettel really needing the win. He’s only racked up 4 wins this season and is sitting on 235 points while Lewis Hamilton is at 263 points.

This will be the last Malaysian Grand Prix for the forseeable future with the Malaysian Government refusing to fund it. From what I hear it’s just never really taken off in Malaysia or expanded their fan base which is a shame.

Vettel will be hoping to pick up his 4th ever win here while Hamilton only has one win so that’s a good sign.

It’s really the perfect time for Sebastian Vettel to turn things around after some poor form. He had that disaster last week so we’ve got to hope we see a better showing.

Weather wise it could be interesting with rain as there’s thunderstorms expected. I don’t think it’ll be as bad as feared but it’s funny seeing Red Bull all excited at the idea.

Malaysian Grand Prix Winner: Vettel 2/1

Sepang is a tyre eater and the Ferrari looks after its tyres a little better. This will be closer than Singapore though – which Ferrari should have dominated. It’s going to be a very tight race however after Singapore, I like Vettel to come in motivated and as long as frustration doesn’t get the better off him, Vettel should be good to take this one.

I’d advise only a small bet on that one however as I don’t feel as confident as I usually do.

Malaysian Grand Prix Top 6 Finish – Perez 11/8

Fundamentally strong car and now he’s not allowed to crash into his team mate he should be best of the rest.

Malaysian Grand Prix Long Shot Bet:

Torro Rosso double points finish – 10/1

Gasly is a talent and an upgrade over Kvyat in the car. Sainz will be there or thereabouts. Has a chance. Looking forward to seeing Gasly here as I’ve been impressed from his work outside of the F1.
