It’s Monday, and we’re coming to terms with the fact that, once again, the weekend is over. Not only that, but the sporting action is in a bit of a lull, with the NBA on All-Star break and the MLB is yet to start. Still, what an All-Star Game it was. Russell Westbrook? We don’t have a command of the English language that would do his performance justice. Sure, it’s an exhibition game, but still, when a player plays to that level, regardless of the level, it’s a thing of beauty. 321 points also helped make the match a classic.

The Champions League also starts back up tomorrow, and although it’s only two fixtures, it’s great to have club football’s best competition back on our screens. So, yeah, not a lot of sport to get our teeth into, but what there is is, of course, still of the highest quality. And you’ll have noticed from the headline that we have a tip for the Cricket World Cup. Well, given that it’s a big event, we thought we would get a guest tipster in just to give a nod to the other sports out there that we don’t give as much attention to. We’ve done it before with darts and tennis, so we thought since it was the World Cup, it was a great time to feature it.

Now, let’s get onto those free sports betting tips for February 16th, 2015.

NHL Betting Tips for February 16th

A lot of action in the NHL tonight, which is great for us. Let’s see what we can come up with.

Rangers vs Islanders

What can you say about the rivalry? Well, the most important thing to say is that the Islanders are 3-0 this season against the Islanders, and even though you can often throw the stat book out when it comes to rivalries, the fact remains that the Islanders have dominated the Rangers all season long, and are sitting top of the Met Division, thanks to playing some great hockey. Islanders to beat the Rangers is a big play for us tonight, as the bookies are struggling to split them, while we think the Islanders are a good thing.

Oilers vs Jets

Make no mistake that we usually like the Oilers at Sports Betting Tips, because they often represent good value, but tonight we really don’t like them. The Jets have so much to play for in the Wild Card race, while the Oilers have what little pride remains, and that’s about it. There are also mounting injury concerns for the men from Edmonton and they’ll just be hoping the season finishes sooner rather than later. Winnipeg -1.5 goals to beat Edmonton is our play here, as the Jets are just far too strong here.

Lightning vs Kings

This is an exciting game, as far as we’re concerned. We love watching the Lightning and the Kings, because they tend to play in action-packed games, and we think tonight that’s going to mean one thing – goals. The Kings are looking to continue their winning streak, while the Lightning are hoping to get some momentum going on the back of a huge win over San Jose at the weekend. Over 5.5 goals is what we like for tonight, and as long as both sides play to their abilities, we should get that easily.

Championship League Betting Tips For 17th February 2015:

As usual, we’re a day early with our soccer picks, because we want to make sure you have the chance to get on, whatever timezone you’re in. The Champions League is back with two huge matches.

PSG vs Chelsea

It’s a huge game for both sides here. PSG need a big run to justify the money being spent at the club, while Chelsea need continued European success just to please their owner. There’s no doubt Zlatan is the big talking point in the game, but we think Mourinho is smart enough to keep him quiet. We think Chelsea will be happy to play out a boring game here, take them back to Stamford Bridge and grind out the result there. A 0-0, or a 0-1 would be the play here, but on the off-chance that PSG nick a goal, we’ll take under 2.5 goals because Chelsea have a habit of just trying to nick these type of games.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Bayern Munich.

A plum draw for Bayern, if we’re being honest. They won 8-0 at the weekend in what will be the perfect tune-up for this match. They’re a short price to win, but let’s give the Ukrainians a 1 goal start and take Bayern Munich -1 to beat Shakhtar Donetsk. Pep will no pull a Mourinho, he’ll be going out to win this and win it comfortably, then no doubt rest half the side in the second leg. Shakhtar aren’t in Bayern’s class, so look for a German masterclass.

Cricket World Cup League Betting Tips For 17th February 2015:

Well, we’re a day late for the shock of the tournament with Ireland beating the West Indies, which is a shock, even though Ireland do have previous form for beating some big names at World Cups. Two games tomorrow, with the minnow of Scotland facing hosts New Zealand, and then Afghanistan, one of cricket’s fairytale stories, take on Bangladesh.

New Zealand will skittle out Scotland quite comfortably, but there is a bit of value to be had backing Afghanistan to beat Bangladesh at around 10/3. Afghanistan are an emerging limited-overs side, a position Bangladesh were in not so long ago. The Afghani team have nothing to lose, and their bowling attack is pretty good. Yes, they should lose comprehensively to the bigger nations in the group, but Bangladesh are not a great side. Get stuck into the fairytale story of the Afghani team and cheer them on to glory in the wee hours of the morning.
