Welcome to the free sports betting tips for February 1st, 2016.
Yes we’re into the month of February, and it means one thing in North America sports – the Superbowl is upon us. Yes, under a week now until the Broncos face the Panthers in what should be an interesting game, with big stories surrounding both quarterbacks. But what was even more interesting was the huge surge of money for Carolina as soon as the books opened at around -4/-4.5 points. Vegas bookies are predicting somewhere around -6.5 mark, with most books already going -5.5 The amount of money wagers on a Superbowl championship game is always huge, but it looks like the bookies could be eating gruel should Cam Newton and the Panthers get the job done by at least one TD. Of course, we’ll have our prediction for the Superbowl closer to the game, and we’ll see where the line ends up.
Elsewhere, it was FA Cup weekend, and there were no real shocks to speak of. On Sunday, Chelsea and Everton won away to lower league opposition comfortably, so that ruined the chance of any big shocks. We then had the draw, with defending FA Cup holders Arsenal draw against Hull, while Manchester City and Chelsea face-off at Stamford Bridge in a match that will delight Arsene Wenger, no doubt. Manchester United seemingly got the plum draw away to Shrewsbury, but let’s be honest, if Van Gaal is still in charge and loses there, he’s out of a job, surely. United fans would no doubt have preferred just going to Arsenal, losing in a tight one than the potential embarrassment of losing to the Shrews.
Anyway, enough of that, let’s get down to the free sports betting tips for February 1st, 2016.
Spanish La Liga Betting Tip
Now, we don’t tend to feature Spanish football all that often in our free sports betting tips, but since it’s going to be shown live, and there’s very little other football on, I thought it worthwhile taking a look at it. so we have Deportivo La Coruna hosting Rayo Vallecano, in a battle of teams out of form. Deportivo have been enjoying a spell of draws, while Vallecano can’t get a string of anything together, with a win last time out the highlight of a lot of draws and loses.
But what’s interesting is that while on paper Deportivo’s home form looks average, they’ve had 2 draws, 2 wins and 1 defeat in their last 5 home games, they’ve been playing teams above them in the league bar one. They beat Eibar and Celta Viga (7th & 8th), drew with Sevilla and Valencia (5th & 12th) and lost 2-1 to Villareal (4th). Vallecano are 19th, they’re struggling and haven’t won away from home in the league since a 1-0 win over Las Palmas back in September. The price on Deportivo is huge here, so get on Deportivo La Coruna to beat Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish La Liga.
NBA Betting Tips:
It’s usually January that signals fresh starts, but for the Phoenix Suns, it’s going to be a fresh start for them in February as Jeff Hornacek is relieved of his duties. Not that it impacts us tonight, as the Suns lost last night and aren’t playing today, but whatever, it was a nice intro to tonight’s free NBA betting tips.
First off, Brooklyn +5.5 purely on the fact that the Pistons’ recent slump hasn’t been pretty, and the Nets at home should be enough to at least see them keep the gap respectable. Plus, the Nets have won the last three at home over Detroit, so history says that 5.5 points won’t be a hard line to keep within.
Toronto -5.5 is out other play of the night. The Raptors are hot right now, and it would be wrong not to ride this wave until we hit land. Will the come unstuck against a poor Denver Nuggets side? I wouldn’t have thought so. The Nuggets went 1-2 on their latest road trip, they weren’t spectacular and they bottled it against the Pacers. A team lacking confidence taking on a side bursting with confidence as well as talent, yeah, backing the Raptors to beat the handicap here is a no-brainer.
