This week on the European Tour, it is the Irish Open. We’ll be hoping to continue our winning ways, as last week we had Miguel Angel Jimenez and he stepped up yet again. The man is on his form of his life at the moment. Here’s the winning betting slip:

jimenez-bmw

Can he continue that form again? We hope so, and we will be betting him again this week. Half unit again. The rest of the betting tips are below.

But first – it is the Irish Open, or as it is currently known: the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it as the Irish Open, does it?

However at least the new sponsor makes it a good prize purse. Back when Fáilte Ireland sponsored it, the purse was just 1.5 million euros. This time, it’s 2.5 million so that’s nice.

This is a great tournament as it is played on a different course every year. This time around it’s at the Royawl County Down. Last time it was played here? Only 1939.

Yeah – tournament history isn’t exactly a big factor this week in the golf tips.

Let’s check out the odds:

Irish Open 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Rory McIlroy: 16/5
  2. Rickie Fowler: 11/1
  3. Sergio Garcia: 12/1
  4. Shane Lowry: 18/1
  5. Martin Kaymer: 25/1
  6. Francesco Molinari: 28/1
  7. Lee Westwood: 33/1
  8. Tommy Fleetwood: 40/1
  9. Chris Wood: 40/1
  10. Byeong-Hun An: 40/1

Our boy Miguel Angel Jimenez is 45/1, and as mentioned we’ll be throwing half a unit on him. Here are the rest of the Irish Open Betting Tips:

Irish Open Betting Tip #1: Tommy Fleetwood

Fleetwood comes into this tournament on the back of some solid form. While he hasn’t been winning, he has 3 Top 10 finishes in his last 5 tournaments. He’s a heavy price of 40/1 but you just can’t ignore some of his results. He had a great time at the BMW European, and he’s someone who always shines on the 2nd half of the European Tour.

With it being a new course we’re not sure how well suited he will be to this one. From our simulations he does fairly well – but we’d recommend a half unit bet on Fleetwood. Best to play it safe.

Bet: Half unit bet on Tommy Fleetwood to win E/W at .

Irish Open Betting Tip #2: George Coetzee

We’re not sure how well suited the South African George Coetzee will be on this course, but we do think he is worth a slight bet. He’s been off and on all season but has two massive wins to his name, and also the 3rd place at the Hassan II Golf Trophy. He really played exceptional then, and while he was poor at the BMW European – a lot of that was based on his last 2 days. He was actually -2 after the first 2 rounds. Sure it was nothing great – but he could have got a respectable Top 10 finish if he kept that up.

We’ll place half a unit on him hoping he can recapture that form. 66/1 is worth the risk.

Bet: Half unit Coetzee to win E/W at .

Irish Open Betting Tip #3: Chris Wood

Wood is a tricky one to go with as you don’t know just how healthy he is. He’s had his fair share of injuries to deal with, and the tall Englishman hasn’t had the best tour. But his form last week is hard to ignore – actually we can’t ignore it – and we think there’s a possibility he can sneak into the top 5 this week.

Only a quarter unit bet on him though.
