The major leagues in football are taking a break this week due to Euro 2020 Qualifying taking place.

This will put us at just past the halfway point of the qualifiers. It’s an interesting setup this year with some teams guaranteed at least a play-off spot due to the UEFA Nations League. Of course that shouldn’t really affect results too much as all teams want to progress automatically anyway.

Let’s have a look at what is taking place on Thursday, September 5th and see what we’ve got:

Italy vs Armenia Betting Tips:

This fixture is in Group J. Italy have played four games and have a 100% record and just 1 goal conceded which was against Bosnia and Edin Dzeko when they beat them 2-1.

Armenia have been okay so far and find themselves in third place just outside the qualification spot. They’ve won 2 and lost 2.

In the UEFA Nations League Italy struggled with a 1-2-1 record while Armenia were pretty solid with a 3-1-2 record.

This is an interesting one. Italy are strong favourites obviously. I went into this one looking to back Italy to win to Nil however looking at the stats etc, Armenia are actually pretty solid at scoring. Italy will be missing Giorgio Chiellini too.

I think there’s a slight chance Armenia are able to get a goal and will bet accordingly.

Israel vs North Macedonia Betting Tips:

International games are always hard to predict. One strategy I generally do is look at teams around the 1.80 to 2.20 range and see if they are worth backing.

Israel fall into that category for me.

This is a Group G clash. Israel are 2nd in the group after 4 games with some impressive results including a 4-2 win over Austria. They’re battling for 2nd place as Poland most likely have it wrapped up, and know this is a key game.

North Macedonia are in 5th but only 3 points behin dthem. Despite that, they will be reassured that they have a play-off spot at least due to the UEFA Nations League.

In there, they managed to win 5 of their 6 games. Israel came 2nd in their group in the Nations League as Scotland were able to win that.

Israel however look like a good team at the moment – especially at home. Eran Zahavi is one of those players that is really stepping out with 7 goals so far and 2 hat tricks. That’s bloody impressive. He currently plays his football at Guangzhou R&F where he’s been scoring a bucket load as well.

It’s not an easy game. Macedonia are a solid team and have looked good away recently too. But there is a gap between them and the top sides and Israel can take advantage of that. Missing Arijan Ademi will hurt too.
