A 1-1 record last night.

We took an over yesterday that was one of the closest losses we’ll have all season. We took the over of 231.5 in the Pelicans and Celtics game. The Pelicans won 123-108. The Pelicans shot a paltry 19-for-29 on free throws in this game. Normally, that’s a stat I would just wave off in a win, but in this one? I’m staring real hard at that one. You couldn’t make ONE more free throw? Zion Williamson played 27 minutes and had 21 points and 11 rebounds.

We did get the win taking the Clippers over the Magic last night. I saw that the Magic would have some serious problems scoring here and they were held under 100 points. While the Clippers had no issue scoring. Kawhi Leonard had a monster game with 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists.

We have a full slate on a Monday this week as the NBA takes a bigger part in the sports world. Let’s get to today’s tips.

Dallas Mavericks at Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Tips:

This is definitely the game of the night as these teams are now just separated by two losses in the standings. The Thunder have a better conference record right now which would be a tiebreaker in the standings so this game does have some importance.

The Thunder have won five straight heading into this one and are ready to make a move in the standings with a win here. That said, despite their recent track record I think that the Mavericks are a much better team. The Mavericks are fourth in the NBA in Net Rating (Offensive Rating – Defensive Rating) and their record is probably a bit weaker than how they’ve played. I think they can really assert themselves here tonight.

Dallas will get the debut of Willie Cauley-Stein who should really help their front line. How he does as a pick-and-roll partner with Luka Doncic will tell a lot about this team’s fortunes this season.

That said, this game is all about the match-up between Luka Doncic and Chris Paul. That’s what is going to get the headlines and it should be a heck of a lot of fun to watch on the court.

As it is, I have to go with Doncic. While Paul has the veteran tricks, the Mavs should really outdo OKC in athleticism. I can see them running in this one and the Thunder having trouble to keep up. It will be a close one, but I think the shooting and speed of the Mavs will win out here.

San Antonio Spurs at Chicago Bulls Betting Tips:

There isn’t much interesting to say here, but I think the Spurs should absolutely win this one.

The Spurs are coming off back-to-back losses at home so they should be extra motivated here. While the Bulls are missing some of their best players with Lauri Markkanen, Wendell Carter Jr., and Otto Porter Jr. all listed as out for this one.

The Bulls are a team with no offense while the Spurs are the Spurs. You know what you’re getting with them and tonight that should be a win.
