Last night we saw the St. Louis Blues even their series with the Boston Bruins. This one was tight throughout with a 2-2 tie late in the third period. Ryan O’Reilly was the star here with two goals including the game-winner. The Blues would add an empty-net goal to make this a 4-2 game and tie the series.

Boston got some bad news as Zdeno Chara took a puck to the face and had to leave the game. He is questionable for game five and the loss of their captain could be huge for Boston. We’re in best-of-three territory now and every game counts. Game five is on Thursday.

In NBA news, the Warriors now have Klay Thompson listed as questionable for game three. With the status of Kevin Durant also up in the air, things are looking pretty good for Toronto. That game is tomorrow so we’ll have to see what happens there.

For tonight, we have the MLB and WNBA. Let’s take a look at today’s tips.

MLB Betting Tips:

Cincinnati Reds at St. Louis Cardinals: The Reds have been riding a strong bullpen to a much more successful season than we’ve seen in recent years from this team. They start Luis Castillo tonight who has been their best starter this year and the offense is starting to heat up. Joey Votto always starts slow, but once he gets going he’s one of the best hitters in the game.

This team plays the Cardinals today and I like the match-up a lot. The Reds pitching should be able to handle this offense and the Cards send Genesis Cabrera who is not a good pitcher.

Oakland Athletics at Los Angeles Angels: The Angels have been on a tough road of late with no off days for quite some time. They are playing the Athletics here with Frankie Montas on the mound which is not a great match-up for them. Montas might be the best pitcher on the mound today and this is going to be a tough game for the Angels.

The Angels send Griffin Canning who isn’t a pitcher who instills fear. I think that the Athletics will get a good start from Montas and get to Canning early.

Bet Athletics -110

WNBA Betting Tips:

Minnesota Lynx at Seattle Storm: The Lynx are undefeated on the season despite a ton of losses to key players. They’ve been the best team in the league thus far and tonight get their toughest match-up of the year against the defending champions.

Seattle is without Breanna Stewart for the season and is also without Sue Bird so while they are the defending champions, they are definitely not that team right now. Natasha Howard has been doing her best to lead the team in their absence, but this team still sits at just 2-2.

This is a time for the Lynx to really make their mark on the season and improve to 5-0. A win against the champs, even the weakened champs, would be huge and I can see this game being more important to Minnesota than you might imagine.
