It’s Monday and we’ve finally recovered from our Cheltenham Festival hangovers. We had a huge day on Cheltenham Gold Cup Day, with a 14/1 winner and then the winner of the Gold Cup itself at 7/1. Add in 4 other places, so we had each-way places as well as the Placepot which paid £100 per unit wagers, and we had a hell of a weekend. Hopefully, you got on, too.

But now it’s back to business as usual, with some NBA, NHL and Champions League tips to get to, though. Again, we had a decent time of it in last week’s Champions League matches, and we’ve got a couple of selections we like for Tuesday.

Let’s get to the free sports betting tips for March 16th, 2015.

NBA Betting Tips for 16th March

Cleveland vs Miamia

Get past the usual LeBron hype and tonight is all about one man – Kyrie Irving. The point guard single-handedly destroyed the Spurs last week and then smashed the Magic on Sunday. He’s in career-best form and the Heat are going to be in a world of pain if they can’t stop him. The Cavs won by 20 when the teams met in February, and they’ve been winning big in recent games, so there’s no reason why they can’t beat the small line tonight. Cleveland -5.5 is just a nice, nice line for us, especially with Irving looking deadly from everywhere on the court.

Portland vs Washington

This could be the surprising highlight of tonight’s NBA action. Two seriously hot teams right now, and it could be a tight, tight game. Portland have been playing some great offense recently, and are just taking apart teams. On the other hand, the same can finally be said again of Washington, who had been poor as of late, but then came back with a bang and are now looking like a team that can compete with the bigger guns in the competition again. Hard to split them, but we think we’re going to be getting a lot of points. Over 199 points looks extremely achievable given how the two teams have been playing of late.

NHL Betting Tips for March 16th, 2015

Arizona vs Los Angeles

The Coyotes have been terrible on the road, there’s no denying that. The Kings shouldn’t even have to be at their best to get the W here tonight, but we think they need a big, convincing win for their playoff chances, since the Western Conferences is tighter than a duck’s backside. Kings -1.5 is definitely the play here. Not the greatest odds, but, damn, the Kings are so much better than the Coyotes that it’s not even funny. Jonathan Quick should hopefully, more or less, have a night off.

Champions League Betting Tips March 17th, 2015:

We’ll get our picks in early for Tuesday’s Champions League matches, as ever.

Monaco vs Arsenal

We knew Arsenal would struggle in the first leg, but we didn’t think they would struggle so badly against Monaco. Now there’s everything to play for, and it should be a great game for purists. Arsenal have been playing some breathtaking football, and will be keen to just go flat out against Monaco. It’s a hard match to call, with Monaco’s defence being solid, and Arsenal are going to have to break this down. Can they do it? Maybe. But Monaco have had an extra day to prepare for this match, and will be well rested. They won’t have to do anything stupid, just not concede three goals. What we can see here is an early Arsenal goal and then Monaco just shutting up shop, and there’s a bit of value in Arsenal HT/FT as the Londoners need to come out of the blocks early.

Atletico Madrid vs Bayer Leverkusen

One word sums up Atletico Madrid lately – draws. Three draws on the bounce have ended their La Liga hopes, and a draw tomorrow night will end their Champions League hopes. A draw for Leverkusen? Perfect. Madrid are odds-on to win here, and for a team struggling for form, it’s not value at all. The real value here could be the draw, but you know what, Leverkusen might just sneak a counter-attack goal, so take Bayer Leverkusen or the Draw at shades of odds-against and hope that the Germans end the Spaniards’ miserable season early.
