March Madness takes it’s break before the Sweet Sixteen after a wild weekend. It was mostly a chalk tournament so far with only #12 Oregon and #5 Auburn being lower seeds in this round. Everyone else is #1 through #4. They said that this tournament was more top heavy than usual and that has turned out to be the case.

That said, it hasn’t been without drama. The Duke Blue Devils, considered by most to be the favorite to win this whole thing, nearly lost to the UCF Knights in a wild game. Duke was down three late when Zion Williamson hit a lay-up with just 14 seconds left in the game. He was fouled on the play and shot a free throw that missed, but RJ Barrett was there to scoop it up and put it back in for the win. The defense held strong and Duke advanced. It’ll be interesting to see how Virginia Tech fares against them next.

For tonight, we’re on the NBA and NHL. Both of these leagues are getting really close to the end and it’s a mix of teams needing to win for playoff positioning (that doesn’t seem to want to) and teams on cruise control until the playoffs begin/offseason starts. The quality isn’t always what it should be in these games, but we can find things to bet on by picking our spots just right.

NBA Betting Tips:

Philadelphia 76ers at Orlando Magic: The Magic are making a dash towards the playoffs and currently sit just one game behind the Miami Heat for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference and the right to be knocked out by the Bucks in four (or five) games. (Don’t @ me, you know it’s true.)

They draw the Philadelphia 76ers tonight who are playing some of their best basketball of late. They are starting to figure out the lineups and how best to mix Embiid, Simmons and Reddick with the new additions of Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris. This team has a ton of talent and I’m not sure how the magic can possibly keep up with them in this one.

Orlando has done well of late, but they haven’t played a playoff team since they beat the Sixers back on March 5th. I think the Sixers remember that and I think the Sixers handle their business. Bet Sixers -2

NHL Betting Tips:

Las Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues: One team that I am really liking of late is the Golden Knights. This team made some deadline additions that have really transformed the team and I am liking them to return to the Cups Finals again this season. They draw a tough match-up tonight with the St. Louis Blues. Both of these teams are playoff-bound, but they are just fighting for seeding and are yet to clinch their spots. I know they would love to do that and I expect a fight to get it done here. The over on this one is set a bit low and I could easily see them blowing it out.
