Well great news this week for football with the EPL and Serie A announcing their returns.
Serie A will be back on June 20th and the EPL will be back on June 17th.
I think for those leagues I’ll continue to do what I have been doing for the Bundesliga – just running through every game and giving them a more casual look.
I much prefer that right now as opposed to hand picking 2-3 “best bets” per day. As it’s such a weird situation right now and it’s really not a normal time.
There’s also a lot of stuff we can note from the re-opening of the Bundesliga such as home/away not being a factor. Will be interesting seeing if that’s the same in the other countries.
With that said, let’s look at the five Bundesliga games taking place on Saturday, May 30th:
May 29th, 2020 Bundesliga Betting Tips:
Hertha Berlin vs Augsburg: Hertha Berlin come into thos une unbeaten following the break. Two great clean sheet results and a draw over Leipzig where they were the better team. Augsburg battered Schalke and drew with Paderborn.
Hertha Berlin are one of the teams I have been more impressed with following everything. Not sure what they have to play for really but maybe the lack of pressure is helping.
Labbadia has them playing very well. Honestly this is one where I’m almost tempted to go 5u but with the current situation it’s best to be cautious. 3u on Hertha at 1.90 odds. Only real concern I can see is overconfidence. Augsburg missing Gouweleeuw too.
Mainz vs Hoffenheim: Mainz have had mixed results post-break as have Hoffenheim. They disappointed me by not beating Paderborn but picked up a solid win over Cologne 3-1 although were a bit fortunate. Mainz are battling relegation, Hoffenheim battling for a spot in Europe. Mainz are struggling to score although these two teams have had some belters. Both these teams are generally big second half performers and recent games between the two have seen the second half be the better one. I’ll take 2u on 2nd half more goals at 1.90 odds. I think Hoffenheim can probably win with Latza out for Mainz but tough to back them after that Paderborn fiasco.
Schalke vs Werder Bremen: Schalke have been dismal lately. Werder Bremen slightly better with a draw against Monchengladbach and a win over Freiburg. Other than that Leverkusen game Bremen have been solid defensively with two clean sheets although the xG is 0.72 and 0.84. Two of the lowest teams in form of xG. I’m good with 2u on Under 2.5 Goals at 1.80 odds. Schalke will no doubt dominate possession but not do much with it.
Wolfsburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Wolfsburg got that massive win out of nowherever over Leverkusen. Frankfurt haven’t won post-break but they have managed to score the goals at least. They’ve got the 4th best xG since the restart. I like this one to have goals with the Wolfsburg offense being confident and Frankfurt being Frankfurt. 1u on Over 2.5 goals at 1.66 odds.
Bayern Munich vs Fortuna Dusseldorf: Dusseldorf have been solid post break although may be a bit fortunate. I think that all comes crashing down here. These two teams played earlier in the season and Munich walked them 4-0. The handicap is just not worth even betting here. No bet for me in this one.
