This week in the European Tour, it is the 2015 Nordea Masters.

Known for years as the Scandinavian Masters, it just changed the name in 2010 to the Nordea Scandinavian Masters, and then in 2011 became the Nordea Masters.

It’s currently played at the beautiful PGA Sweden National, a fantastic course and one I’d love to play at one day! It was first held here just last year and was a thriller – Thongchai Jaidee took it down in a playoff against Victor Dubuisson and Stephen Gallacher.

We’re a bit hesitant about betting on the European Tour at the moment. With all of the co-sanctioned events ran previously it makes it difficult to get the form guide going in our betting systems. On top of that we like to rely on past play at a course, and unfortunately the tournament has only been held at this course once previously.

So it’s up to you what you want to do this week in regard to our betting tips. We’ve had a great season already but we’re probably going to play it safe with half unit bets this week. If you haven’t been following us for awhile and don’t have the massive ones from the year so far to pad your bankroll – you may want to bet less or just skip this week. We’re just being honest with you in regard to our confidence levels for the week.

Let’s get to it:

Nordea Masters 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Henrik Stenson: 9/2
  2. Joost Luiten: 18/1
  3. Alex Noren: 20/1
  4. Thingchai Jaidee: 20/1
  5. Emiliano Grillo: 25/1
  6. Thomas Bjorn: 30/1
  7. Rafael Cabrera Bello: 30/1
  8. Miguel Angel Jimenez: 33/1
  9. Alexander Levy: 35/1
  10. David Howell: 35/1

Henrik Stenson is surprisingly the oustanding favourite for this one. Let’s see what tips we can rustle up:

Nordea Masters Betting Tip #1: Thongchai Jaidee

Thongchai Jaidee was the winner here last year – and based on the way we played, we think it’s worth a half unit bet on him again this year.

He’s coming on on the back of some fine, fine form. He has two top 10 finishes going for him as he comes into this one, with 10th in the last tournament, and 2nd the prior tournament.

He’s not picked up a win on the tour yet this year – and while it can be extra risky when you back the previous years winner – we’d feel bloody stupid if we didn’t bet Jaidee here. He’s a strong contender who has the ability to be up in the top 5 at the end of the tournament.

Bet: Half-unit bet on Jaidee to win E/W at .

Nordea Masters Betting Tip #2: Smaller Bets

Unfortunately, Jaidee is the only one who really stands out for us.

However we have two other potential bets that we recommend betting quarter unit on. They are Joost Luiten and Victor Dubuisson.

These were two that we considered, decided against but then decided to go back on and place small quarter unit bets on.

Luiten is the 2nd favourite. Honestly he is the type of that guy that if he is playing at the top of his game he can be unstoppable. Unfortunately he hasn’t had the type of form this tour that would cause that to happen, but we think the bookies have him 2nd favourite for a strong reason, and will be backing him accordingly.

We have a soft spot for Dubuisson. He was in the playoff last year – and while his form has been poor – he’s someone that doing our simulations we just couldn’t ignore.

Bet: Quarter unit bet on them to win E/W at .
