Today is the unofficial “real” start of the college basketball season with games going all day. They’ve already started early this morning and will continue until late tonight. The big game tonight is the match-up between Kentucky and Duke who are always at the top of recruiting classes. The Wildcats lost their top seven scorers from last year’s Final Four team, but have returned another class of studs. Duke won it all last year and lost their own studs including Jahil Okafor, Tyus Jones and Justise Winslow. They also reloaded as both coaches have embraced the one-and-done game. This should be a fun game and could be a preview of two teams in the Final Four.

We also have some great NBA action going tonight. The Warriors look to improve to 12-0 with a home game against the Toronto Raptors. Golden State has somehow been better than they were last season with Steph Curry looking to repeat as MVP. They are just a machine at this point and a 70-win season is not out of the question. If you are a fan of basketball at all you should be watching the Warriors any chance you get. This is basketball at it’s greatest.

NBA Betting Tips:

The Bucks and Wizards were both playoff teams last season, but if the season ended today they would be on the outside looking in. The East is better this season so there’s a real chance that one of these teams could miss the playoffs. The Celtics, Pacers, Wizards, Pistons and Bucks are all fighting for three playoff spots and it could go down to the wire.

While tonight’s game won’t decide who gets the playoff spot, it will help in painting the picture of what the future looks like. The Bucks are coming off a huge win at home against the Cavs and I really like the way they are playing right now. Jabari Parker is coming back slowly, but he is looking like the great player we thought we were getting last season. Plus, Giannis Antetokoumpo is a star in the making. I just like the way the Bucks play defense and if the Wizards are without Bradley Beal they are not the same team. Bucks +4.5 is a good play tonight.

Detroit had us believing in the Pistons before a brutal 0-4 trip through California. Andre Drummond has been a monster all season though and the defense has been for real. All hail Stan Van Gundy. They get home from their road trip and have Cleveland waiting for them. Ouch. The Cavs are the Cavs, but these are two of the best defense teams in the NBA and this one should go Under 193.5.

The Warriors are just on another level at home. They could go undefeated at home. That is insane to say considering they play 41 home games, but that’s just what watching this team does to you. They are just that good. Warriors -9 in a route of the Raptors tonight.

College Football Betting Tips:

The thing about these weekday college football games as they always seem to see some crazy scoring. Some call it MACtion. Tonight should be no different as the two MAC division leaders face off in what should be a wild game. Toledo and Bowling Green combine to score over 80 points per game and tonight’s game is a huge one for both teams. They’ll both bring their A-game and over 69.5 points seems like a gimme.

College Basketball Betting Tips:

The match-up between Kentucky and Duke is a weird one. It’s less about who is the better team or who is the better coach, at least this early in the season, but more about who has the better freshman. Kentucky has done this reload game before and I just have to believe they can do it again. They look to be the better defensive team and Skal Labissiere looks like the next top pick from Kentucky so we better learn to say his name. I’m going with Kentucky -2 tonight.
