Tonight we could witness history as the Warriors go for a 16-0 start against the Lakers. Only three teams have ever started the season 15-0 and all of them lost that 16th game. The Warriors have a great opportunity tonight to set the record as they face the lowly Lakers who have only won two games all season. Golden State opens as a huge -17.5 point favorite tonight and it’s hard to go against them. These two teams could not be any further apart on the spectrum. The Warriors could be an all-time great team while the Lakers are… not.

Two of the most surprising teams of the young season are also in play tonight. The 8-5 Indiana Pacers take on the Washington Wizards and the 9-5 Dallas Mavericks play the Memphis Grizzlies. Both of these teams looked like they didn’t have enough talent to compete this year, but their talented coaches (Frank Vogel and Rick Carlisle, respectively) have gotten the most out of what they have and built surprisingly good teams. Both teams have looked great and they are exactly the kind of teams we like to target at this point in the season.

NBA Betting Tips:

Where the Mavericks have been surprisingly good, the Grizzlies have been surprisingly bad. They have a -5.4 per game point differential and have allowed an average of over 100 points per game. Which is fine for most teams, but not one that gets by scoring 94 points per game. The grit and grind team that pushed the Warriors in the playoffs last season seems to have been figured out by the rest of the league and this team is in danger of falling out of contention. The Mavericks +3 is a great value tonight based on the way each team has played thus far this season. With Zach Randolph questionable, the Mavericks should improve on their 3-1 against the spread record in Memphis over the past three seasons.

The three best point differentials in league belong to the Golden State Warriors, the San Antonio Spurs and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Next on that list? The Boston Celtics. This is one of the best coached teams in all of basketball and they play their game as good as anyone else in this league. It should be a great match-up tonight when they play the Hawks who play a similar style of basketball with an equally talented coach. Boston already has one win over Atlanta this season and I could see a second one tonight. Boston +4

The Indiana Pacers have looked great thus far this season as I mentioned in the opening. They play the Washington Wizards tonight who I can’t say the same for. They are a very up and down team, bottom in the Eastern Conference with 105.3 points allowed per game. It’s only ten games, but that is a very big number. I have to go with the team who has shown they can score and defend. Pacers +2

In the game of the night, the Warriors go for the record against the Lakers tonight at home. The Warriors play at another level at home and tonight should be the perfect example of that. They want this record, the home crowd wants this record and the Lakers are not even close. I can’t believe I’m laying this many points, but Warriors -17.5 is the play tonight.
