A very frustrating 1-3 record last night.

The Pacers +5 against the Sixers really hurt. This game was tied at 110 late in the fourth quarter and the Pacers went cold as the 76ers scored the last eleven points of the game. A little fight, a little luck and that would’ve been an easy cover.

It’s hard to figure what was wrong with the Magic -8.5 last night. We knew something was wrong when they led 45-44 at the half, they had a 109 offensive rating heading into this one. They went even colder in the second half as they only managed 38 points. We were betting on that offense against one of the worst teams in the league. This was a prime example of teams living and dying by the three pointer. The Magic shot 28% from three while the Bulls shot 48%.

As for the Wizards game, well, I guess you can’t make it publicly known that you think the best player on the planet is afraid of you and that you want to beat them. LeBron went off for 57 and was unguardable.

Thankfully, the Celtics did what we thought and won outright while getting +6.5.

Let’s get into tonight’s picks and rock Saturday night.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Clippers Betting Tips:

This is an early afternoon game which I think favors the home team. If some of the Grizzlies got in last night and decided to hit the town a little bit, that is a tight turnaround for a game today.

Even if they didn’t, they are likely without Marc Gasol for this game which is pretty much their entire offense. Mike Conley is expected back for this one after an achilles injury kept him out. Those types of injuries tend to linger and I am just not a fan of the health of this team right now.

The Clippers have been one of the best teams in the league thus far this year and they can match the defensive intensity of the Grizzlies. We think they should easily get it done at home today.

The Clippers -6.5 is our pick tonight.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Chicago Bulls Betting Tips:

This is an interesting one as both teams are on their third game in four nights, back-to-back with a travel day last night. That’s not good for any team, but this basically makes it a wash.

Despite last night’s result, the Bulls are still one of the worst teams in the league and we don’t believe in them. 48% from three is a fluke for the best team and it is a super fluke for this collection of players.

The Pelicans will have both DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis healthy for this game and that gives them the two best players on the floor. Jrue Holliday might be the third best player and the Pelicans should roll. They aren’t quite as reliant on the three ball as other teams because of those twin towers which makes them a solid play tonight.

We’re going with the Pelicans -6 at Chicago tonight.
