Tough night last night as every tip fell a shot or two short. They were all covering at some point late, but didn’t end up winners. They won the games, but didn’t cover the spreads. That happens. Those are the kind of breaks you miss in an NBA season every now and then. We are undeterred and look to finish our weekend strong.

We have a full schedule tonight and there a couple of games that really stood out so let’s get right into that.

Utah Jazz vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Tips:

It’s only been one game, but the Thunder are looking like a monster and Graeme is out trying to buy all the Thunder merch that he can. They played the awful Knicks, but the fit looked great with everyone getting theirs and the team playing well together. Of course, they were playing one of the worst teams in the league and it’s easy to look good doing that. Tonight will be a test.

The Jazz have been a spunky team thus far, showing they will play just as tough without Gordon Hayward as they did with him. They ruined our Timberwolves bet last night and are going to be a tough team to deal with this year. However, we don’t like them at all tonight.

Why? Simple, they are playing their third game in four nights. You know, a scheduled loss. The type of thing the NBA started the season to avoid. They opened at home, played in Minnesota and now head back home for a back-to-back.

The Thunder -5 are a top-four team in the West, they have only played one game thus far and the Jazz will be tired. Loving this tip.

Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Clippers Betting Tips:

Man, every other team in the league would kill for the Clippers opening schedule. The lottery bound Lakers followed by arguably the worst team in the league in the Phoenix Suns. A 2-0 start is looking pretty damn likely as the Clippers are favored by 12.5 in this one. That’s not why we’re here though.

We’re here for the Suns defense. They’ve played two games and allowed 124 in one and 132 in the other. They turned the ball over 16+ times in each game and opponents have hit 50% against them. This is going to be a long season for the Suns. They have some interesting young players that could be pretty awesome in a few years, but they cannot defend anyone and they are going to give up a lot of points this season.

The Clippers should handle their business here. They are a veteran team and they’ve had two days off to prepare for this one. Blake Griffin looked really good in the opener going for 29 points and 12 rebounds, he’s ready to be the man on this team. DeAndre Jordan put up some huge rebounding numbers, 24 boards in just 31 minutes. Those two should beat up on the Suns front court while I also expect a big game out of Danilo Gallinari who should have plenty of open corner 3s.

We think the Clippers roll and the over 217.5 will be reached. The Suns defense is just too bad and the Clippers offense has too many weapons not to exploit it.
