PDC UK Open 2012 Day Four Evening Session Premium Picks

A fantastic afternoon for us, with three winners from three, taking us to a nice +7.87 units for the UK Open. We’ve got a couple of matches left, so there’s still a bit of room for profit.

The results of the quarter-finals went the way we expected, and we have Dave Chisnall taking on Robert Thornton, before Phil Taylor takes on Phil Taylor. So we’re going to be a first-time finalist again, maybe TWO first-time finalists, if The Heat can tame The Power.

We’ve got three matches left in the UK Open, and they start in under two hours, so let’s see what the bookies have on offer.

Dave Chisnall -3.5 legs to beat Robert Thornton: 5/6 @ Victor Chandler.

Recommend: 1.5 units

The averages don’t lie. Chisnall is power scoring, averaging 98.84 in his last match, while Thornton put in a 92.78. While a 92.78 isn’t bad, Thornton doesn’t seem to have the scoring power to keep up with Chisnall. This tournament is Chisnall’s time, and he should crush Thornton here. 10-6 or better looks good for Chizzy.

Phil Taylor -5.5 legs to beat Denis Ovens 5/6 @ Victor Chandler.

Recommend: 1.5 units.

Taylor’s just putting in the big averages when he needs to now, and he’s looking good for yet another final. Denis Ovens likes the venue, doesn’t like the semi-finals. The fact is, Taylor’s a class of his own, and against someone like Ovens, he’s got around 15-20 points on him, which should give him a huge advantage.

That’s all the Premium Tips for the UK Open. We’ve turned a nice profit, regardless of the two results here, and hopefully you’ve enjoyed a great tournament. There won’t be picks for the final, as the bookies don’t give me much of a time to turn it around.

I’ll be back for the World Matchplay in July, and hopefully you’ll re-subscribe to the Premium Picks. Until then, enjoy the final three matches, and let’s hope Dave Chisnall can write his name into the record books as the new UK Open winner.
