Wow! What a night of darts. There was some walkovers, then perhaps one of the games of the year. Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor put in some performance, with Taylor’s bottle showing, with the crowd giving him some serious aggro. That being said, let’s not forget Adrian Lewis and Wayne Jones put on a great show, even if it didn’t go our way. We were a bit unlucky with Lewis pulling out some fantastic darts to beat Jones, who was superb in defeat. The scoreline really didn’t go Jones justice.

Still, we’re into the semi-finals now, with the three top players in the world there, along with the man touted to be the next Phil Taylor – Adrian Lewis. If you could have picked a semi-final line-up, you wouldn’t have gone far wrong with these four.

I want to mention the bookmakers that will give you some free money for depositing there. Is there anything better than free money? Well, more free money. So, use my tips along with these free sign-up offers and we’ll keep the great run going!

Raymond van Barneveld Vs James Wade:

Raymond van Barneveld:

Tournament:
Average: 86.15
Total 180s: 6
Highest checkout: 113
Legs played: 42

James Wade:

Tournament:
Average: 82.76
Total 180s: 5
Highest checkout: 154, 140
Legs played: 43

Well, the world No.2 takes on the world No.3 in a match that you might not have expected after the form shown by these men at the start of the year. Hands up if you thought Simon Whitlock might have been there? Well, I thought there was a good chance, too. But the cream has risen to the top and these two are bound to put on a great match for us.

The averages are close, the amount of legs played is close and the 180 count is close. All signs point to a close match, which is what you would expect from James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld.

The bookies should have this around 10/11 the pair, as there is nothing between them and that’s the way I see it. However, Wade’s finishing has been what’s got him through so far, as Andy Hamilton wasn’t disgraced in their quarter-final match, it was simply Wade’s great finishing that saw him through.

James Wade to score the highest checkout vs Raymond van Barneveld: @

Right now, there are no markets up for this, but The best place to bet this should be Paddy Power should give you the best price on this market.

Recommend: 3 units.

Adrian Lewis Vs Phil Taylor:

Adrian Lewis:

Tournament:
Average: 82.38
Total 180s: 9
Highest checkout: 161, 140
Legs played: 52

Phil Taylor:

Tournament:
Average: 100.97
Total 180s: 10
Highest checkout: 153
Legs played: 47

Oh, it’s this match again. Phil Taylor has played Adrian Lewis 30 times and he’s won 28 of them. This should be number 29. The gulf in averages is what’s going to show here. The long format will suit Taylor and it really won’t benefit Lewis and his fragile mentality. If Taylor starts quickly, Lewis’ head might just go down and it could end up being a long night for him.

The line I usually like to take in a Lewis vs Taylor encounter is Lewis to score the highest checkout, but I don’t think it will happen tonight, for some reason. Taylor looked semi-human against Gary Anderson and he’ll want to make a point to a crowd that were almost baying for his blood. Expect Taylor to fly out the blocks, demoralise Lewis and take this match very, very comfortably. Hell, the 9-darter might be on just because Taylor has a point to prove.

Recommend: No bet.

Well, if either of these matches can live up to the Anderson Vs Taylor match yesterday, we’ll be lucky, lucky punters. After a slow start to the week, the darts action has really picked up and it’s proven why the World Matchplay is considered the second most important tournament after the World Championship.

Remember, if you don’t have an account at Betfair, you really should sign up for one, not only for the free bet, but the ability to bet on sports in running. Darts in-running betting is the most exhilarating thing imaginable, as the prices can go wild with the throw of a dart, one double being missed, or one maximum. It’s brilliant!

So, get yourself over to Betfair, enjoy the darts and, most importantly, happy betting!
