I think you’ll agree it’s not too shabby and if you’ve followed my tips, remember to drop me an e-mail and let me know what you’re spending all the profits on. Me? Well, I’ve put my money aside for a 3D TV so I can watch the World Championships in 3D in December.

There’s not a better offer available and I’ve taken advantage of this for tonight’s tips, and I think you should too. Stan James are big supporters of darts and are the actual sponsors of the World Matchplay. We find their markets to be amongst the best when it comes to darts betting, which is why we proudly support them. Plus, their £25 match bet is a fantastic offer, probably the best out there at the moment. So, why not sign up, deposit and have a nibble on our first tip of the night and Stan James will match it:

Seriously, if you don’t have accounts at any of these bookmakers, sign up, deposit and use your free bet to have a dabble on tonight’s tips. Now that that’s out of the way and you’ve got your free bets, let’s get the tips going.

Phil Taylor Vs Raymond van Barneveld:

The two best players in the world, perhaps the two best players ever square off, with Raymond van Barneveld in his first ever World Matchplay final. Barney has shown the form of old, sweeping aside everyone, even demolishing the world number three, James Wade, in the semi-finals. It was an amazing performance, with an average of 99.42 and some glorous checkouts by both men.

Phil Taylor put in another great performance, dismantling Simon Whitlock with an average of 103.46. Taylor can do no wrong this week, putting in a tournament best average in the first round and then taking apart the opposition in every game since then. He’s definitely at his peak and Barney will be hard to beat.

On the averages in the semi-finals, Taylor has the advantage, however Barney has been making some big out shots when needed. It’s going to be a close one in the race to 18. The thing is, Taylor has one huge edge over Barney and it’s all psychological. Barney could match him on averages, as long as Taylor doesn’t put in a world record performance, but as soon as Taylor breaks him, the head might just go. However, the handicap line is -7.5 and that’s not doing Barney justice. He’s playing some great darts and should be able to take 11 legs off of Taylor.

Raymond van Barneveld +7.5 legs versus Phil Taylor: 11/10 @

Recommend: 2.5 units @ 11/10

And that’s it from me for this tournament. We’ll be back for the World Grand Prix in Dublinb and that will be in October. It’s a great tournament with a double-in format, plus it’s a happy hunting ground for Phil Taylor. We’ll be updating all the spreadsheets and making sure we’re ready for some top tipping come October. That will preceed the Grand Slam of Darts in November, the inaugural PDC World Cup and then we do that World Championship thing all over again in December.

I hope you’ve made a small fortune this week and you enjoy it. It’s been fun, so enjoy the darts tonight and, as ever, happy betting!
