Another week, more Premier League Darts tips. This week the Premier League roadshow heads to Exeter and we’re got a match that just a couple of years ago would have us watering at the mouth – Phil Taylor versus Raymond van Barneveld. Now, we’re looking forward to Taylor versus Gary Anderson, but Taylor versus Barney still has a bit of excitement attached to it, especially after Barney’s two back-to-back wins.

We’re currently 2-7 and -11.3 units, but again, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Keep the faith and I’ll get us into profit.

I’d like to introduce you to a new sponsor for Darts Betting Tips. Not only are new here, but they’re also the new sponsors of Premier League Darts. 888.com are turning their attention to darts and they’re now offering a free £20 bet to new accounts, which isn’t to be sniffed at!

And now it’s time for Premier League Darts week 4 tips. Remember, if you’ll be in Exeter for the darts, get your bets on in plenty of time, as you’ll want to get there early enough to get a giant beer or two before the action starts.

Terry Jenkins versus Simon Whitlock.

Simon Whitlock pulled out a decent performance last week to take down James Wade, while Terry Jenkins was never at the races against Phil Taylor. The Aussie averaged 91.71, while Jenkins averaged 85.61. To be honest, Jenkins’ average hasn’t been too great in the first three weeks and even though Whitlock isn’t in his best form, his win over James Wade should give him some confidence.

I’m hoping Jenkins won’t be too demoralised from his thrashing at the hands of Taylor, as I want to see a match of it, but I think Whitlock is just ahead and should take this, as long as his doubling doesn’t let him down. Plus, Whitlock’s form over the weekend’s UK Open qualifiers should set him up for a great performance.

Adrian Lewis versus Mark Webster.

The World Champion, Adrian Lewis, almost produced a stunning comeback against Raymond van Barneveld last week, but it wasn’t to be. Lewis’ doubling let him down at key moments, but his 170 proved why he is World Champion. His average of 96.72 is a couple of points off his Premier League standard, but it’s still decent, considering he lost.

Mark Webster was truly out of form last week in his 8-1 defeat to Gary Anderson, averaging 84.80. The 12 point difference between his average and Lewis’ average sums up both men’s performances last week. Webster started off promisingly, but last week showed his downfall, which can be his consistency. Both men had decent weekends, with Lewis’ run to the semi-final on Saturday bettering Webster’s fourth round run on the Sunday. Both men made early exits in the other events.

That being said, the World Champion is a rather big price if you look at last week’s performances. even if Webster ups his game, Lewis can averaged in the mid-90s even when he’s a bit out of sorts just because of his heavy scoring. As long as he can outscore Webster, he should have enough darts at a double to take this match.

Gary Anderson versus James Wade.

Top of the league Gary Anderson takes on second bottom James Wade in what many might have thought would be a close match a year ago, but now Anderson looks to have found the form we all thought he was capable of, yet never did show when it came to the crunch.

But now Wade seems to be on a slippery slope, while Anderson is hitting new heights. This match could be the turning point for both men, not just for the Premier League season, but their careers. Wade needs a win badly to show he’s still playing at the highest level, while Anderson still needs to be taking the scalps of the top players in the world.

The fact Anderson is yet to put in a poor performance just shows the level he’s playing at, while Wade hasn’t looked anywhere near his best in any of the three weeks and I can’t see things changing this week. Wade’s average last week of 90.26 pales in comparison to Anderson’s 99.24 and Anderson reckons he’s capable of 100-plus every week, so Wade will need to find 10-points from somewhere just to be competitive. Add to the fact wade’s doubling is costing him and Anderson should take this without too much drama.

Anderson’s price is a tad prohibitive and the handicap isn’t the best, but I do like the look of the total legs. After his 8-1 demolition of Mark Webster, Anderson might just fancy doing the same to Wade, especially if Wade plays the way he’s been playing as of late and the line of 12.5 might not get hit and the price makes it quite nice.

Phil Taylor versus Raymond van Barneveld.

Phil Taylor, who was inducted into the Stoke-on-Trent Sporting Hall of Fame last year takes on his biggest rival, Raymond van Barneveld. Barney is in a rich vein of form, as is Taylor and Taylor will have the edge here, knowing he’s getting back to the kind of form that could see him walk away with yet another Premier League title.

Barney’s average of 94.29 is one of his better Premier League performances, but Taylor put in a 98.46, after his 100-plus in week two. While Taylor’s doubling and power scoring is still to fully come back, he should have enough to take care of Barney, who, although he’s been winning, hasn’t looked back to the Barney of old.

Sadly, as ever, Taylor’s price is anything but generous, especially after his stinker in week one, but he should have enough to take this down. The rest of the lines seem about right, so as with a lot of Taylor matches, we’lll just leave it for the night.

Recommend: No bet.

And that’s it for another week. It’s a great line up of matches for Exeter and the Premier League Darts bandwagon shows no sign of slowing down. Enjoy the darts and happy betting!
