Premier League 2012 Week 14 Tips

The final night of Premier League Darts action before the play-offs begin takes us to Newcastle, my favourite city in Britain, tonight, and there’s so much to play for, as two play-off places are yet to be confirmed. Simon Whitlock takes on Adrian Lewis, with the Aussie already in the play-offs, and Jackpot needing a win to guarantee his place. Andy Hamilton takes on Kevin Painter, and both men know a win could help them sneak into the play-offs. Then we have the big one, the winner-takes-all clash between James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld. Finally, Gary Anderson takes on Phil Taylor in what is a dead rubber.

To thank you for sticking by me through a pretty grim Premier League Darts season, all Premium Picks subscribers will get their UK Open for free, where I’m sure we’ll get our money back, and then a hell of a lot more!

We’re having technical difficulties here, which is why the update is late, so I’m just going to get straight into the tips.

Adrian Lewis versus Simon Whitlock
Lewis needs the win here, Whitlock doesn’t. But Whitlock will be aware that if he loses he could end up facing Phil Taylor in the semis. Both men haven’t won for a couple of weeks, so the time looks right for a draw here.

Adrian Lewis to draw with Simon Whitlock: 4/1 @ 888.com.

Kevin Painter versus Andy Hamilton.

Both men have acquitted themselves in their debut Premier League seasons, although I can’t see either being invited back unless they have remarkable 2012s. Hamilton has the edge on averages, Painter has the edge on recent Premier League form. However, Andy Hamilton’s run to the final of Saturday’s floor tournament is the important form line here, as he beat Kevin Painter 6-3 en route to the final. Painter made the semi-final, before a third round exit on Sunday, just like tonight’s opponent. It’s going to be a close one, but I think Hamilton’s confidence might just edge him through here.

Andy Hamilton to beat Kevin Painter: 5/4 @ 888.com.

Raymond van Barneveld versus James Wade.

The biggest game of the night. Both men need to win to get into the play-offs. Wade won their other meeting this season 8-6, in what was a fantastic match. But Wade lost 6-0 to Colin Lloyd on Saturday in the third round, and he didn’t play on Sunday, so there’s a slight worry there. The long and short of it is, there’s a chance Wade isn’t 100%, while Barney will be coming in rested and ready for the fight. The Newcastle crowd love Barney (I know from experience!), so that should hopefully motivate him to get across the line, and I fully expect him to.

Raymond van Barneveld to beat James Wade 5/4: 10/11 @ 888.com.

Phil Taylor versus Gary Anderson.

An exhibition match, nothing else. Let’s get on the highest checkout, as both men will want to put on a great show for the Geordie crowd in tonight, and give them a bit of value for money before they hit the Bigg Market!

And that’s all from Week 14 of the PDC Premier League 2012 Premium Darts Betting Tips from Newcastle. We’ll be back next week for the PRC Premier League Darts Play-offs, and I can’t wait!
