This week sees the newly named San Antonio Championship in the Champions Tour.

Previously it was known as the AT&T Championship and it had that name since 2006.

Established in 1985, the San Antonio Championship takes place at the TPC San Antonio, on the AT&T Canyons Course.

Last years winner was Michael Allen. He actually started weak with just 2 under par but he managed to get better as the tournament went on with a sick 5 under and a 6 under. Sick performance from Allen who won it for the first time.

We were so close last week with the SAS Championship. We had Kenny Perry to win and he was leading going into the last day. Unfortunately while he shot a -2 on the final day, Tom Lehman hit a whopping -4 to take the tournament.

San Antonio Championship 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Bernhard Langer: 5/1
  2. Colin Montgomerie: 11/2
  3. Kenny Perry: 7/1
  4. Tom Lehman: 10/1
  5. Fred Couples: 12/1
  6. Jeff Maggert: 14/1
  7. Woody Austin: 22/1
  8. Scott Dunlap: 22/1
  9. Kevin Sutherland: 25/1
  10. Michael Allen: 30/1

San Antonio Championship Betting Tip #1: Michael Allen

Last years winner is a hefty 30/1. He actually didn’t do too shabby at the SAS Championship last week with a -3 overall. He’s also been in solid form with a couple of top 10 finishes in the last 2 months.

Allens course history here is excellent and he has the ability to really do some major damage. His one problem is consistency but we will go with a quarter unit bet on him at 30/1.

Bet: Michael Allen to win and E/W. 30/1 odds at .

San Antonio Championship Betting Tip #2: Kirk Triplett

Triplett continues to have a solid course history at the AT&T Canyons and is coming into this one on some interesting form.

He came tied for 16th in the SAS Championship but that was due to a horrific +4 round. You take that away and give him even par there and he’s in the top 5 at the very least.

We don’t think he has what it takes to win but we’ll go with a quarter unit bet on Triplett here at the San Antonio Championship and we’ll bet it E/W – as he is usually good enough to get in the Top 5.

Bet: To win and E/W at .

San Antonio Championship Betting Tip #3: Kenny Perry

Finally we’ll do a quarter unit bet on the man we backed last week and who came so close.

We tipped Kenny Perry to win the SAS Championship and he was leading going into the last day. Unfortunately he shot a -2 on the last day but Tom Lehman hit a whopping -7. Durant also hit a -4.

Kenny Perry, a previous winner of this tournament has shown some consistently great form and we think it’s only a matter of time.

Bet: Quarter unit on Perry to win. Best odds are at .
