As a reminder I will be covering Boxing Day action for the next few days here at BetSoccer.ca.

For each new post I’ll link any previous Boxing Day football betting tips. I’ve already written the English Championship Betting Tips for Boxing Day for example.

For today we’ll dive into the Scottish Premership games taking place on Boxing Day. Every team is playing and we do of course have the big Edinburgh Derby.

For both Rangers and Celtic it’s the last game before the Old Firm match on the 29th so obviously a decent amount of pressure on them there.

The SPL will then go under a Winter break for a bit.

Hearts vs Hibs Betting Tips:

Neither team is coming in here too strong at the moment.

The Last Edinburgh Derby was in September and Hearts won 2-1 there thanks to a goal from Aaron Hickey late on.

Hearts come in on the back of a whopping 7 games without a win and just one point to show for it which was a 1-1 draw at home to Livingston.

Hibs had a solid run going on but it was stopped at Ross County, then back to back Old Firm games didn’t help.

Hibs will be missing Ryan Porteous which hurts. Hibs rely a lot on goals scored from the buildup while Hearts are excellent at stopping that. 27% of Hibs goals are from buildup attacks while Hearts concede just 17.90% of goals from those.

I think either team will be happy with a point here. Hearts feel like they are getting a bit closer to performing better while Hibs will be happy with a point away to their rivals.

Aberdeen vs Livingston Betting Tips:

Livingston come into this one on the back of some excellent performances. They have not lost in 5 games. Their away form, which has been brutal this season, picked up a bit with points against St Mirren and Hearts. They are scoring the goals which is good for them.

I think it ends here at Aberdeen though. Aberdeen will be frustrated with their performances lately. That 3-0 loss to Hibs was tough and it was an unlucky one against Celtic. At home they have performed exceptionally well this season with just 1 loss in 9 games.

Aberdeen are great at creating the goals from the build up attacks. Livi aren’t too great at counter attacks and rely more on set pieces.

I like Aberdeen to pick away at Livingston here. It won’t come easy but I do like them to get a nice victory 1-0 or 2-0 and stop Livingstons goalscoring production.

2u on Aberdeen to win. 1.75 odds, bet it at https://www.Bovada.lv

Also call me crazy but man I feel like Celtic slip up against St Mirren here or come close to it. Just feels like they have been skating on thin ice a bit lately and they look ahead to the Rangers game here. I’m going to wager 0.25 on St Mirren or Draw more on gut feel than anything else at 5.00 odds.
