College football betting tips for September 1st, 2023.

1-1 last night on Patreon.

W Utah -4.5
L Minnesota -7

It took about one quarter into Minnesota/Nebraska to realize I’d made a terrible mistake. -7 might as well have been -35. That was some boring football. In retrospect, the under was the obvious play. In retrospect, I probably should’ve left it alone as I liked it about 1/5th as much as Utah.

I will be covering college football throughout the season on Patreon starting with tomorrow’s slate.

Tonight we also have MLB on Patreon and Graeme has an EPL betting tip up as well. We are getting to the very best part of the sports calendar with football and baseball going on at the same time with basketball and hockey right around the corner. If you were ever going to check out the Patreon, now is the time.

Three bets for tonight’s college football slate. Two are available below.

We are now posting some of our betting tips exclusively on Patreon, as well as posting exclusive betting tips there. Here is what you get by supporting us on Patreon:

Louisville at Georgia Tech Betting Tips:

Remember last night’s Nebraska/Minnesota game? This should be the complete opposite.

Louisville will be running the Air Raid offense while also having one of the best running backs in college football in Jawhar Jordan. That is a great combination. Georgia Tech had a strong secondary last year but gave up a ton on the ground. Either way, Louisville will find a way to beat them.

However, Louisville’s defense is average at best. Georgia Tech will be starting Haynes King at QB who transferred from Texas A&M. That did not go well, but I don’t think you can put all of that on his shoulders. The offense A&M ran last year was more suited to the 1960s than the 2020s. A new system and coach should suit him well.

These two teams played in 2018 and 2020, and both games went well over the total.

Stanford at Hawaii Betting Tips:

Hawaii has improved quite a bit year over year. 2022 was a transition year with a new coach and a lot of talent leaving the program before the season. They seem to have righted the ship as their impressive performance against Vanderbilt last week showed. Considering the 63-10 loss at home in 2022 and then losing by just a touchdown to the same team last week, I’d say they’ve improved.

Stanford is very much in the state that Hawaii was last year. A new coach, a new system, a new QB, and only six returning starters total. It’s not like this team was great shakes before.

The fires in Maui and this being the first home game after shouldn’t be excused for Hawaii either. This is basically their national team and I think they show up big.
