A 2-1 record last night.

Yu Darvish was a big part of why we took the Cubs last night and he was absolutely on fire. He had a perfect game going through the first five innings and ultimately ended up with 7 IP, 11 strikeouts, one hit, and one run allowed. The Cubs offense did their thing against Flaherty, he only made it 2.2 innings, and the Cubs got the easy win. Darvish has to be the favorite for the Cy Young right now. A big bounce back from where he was just a year ago.

We took the Angels in the first five based on the starting pitching match-up and that went according to plan. Bundy was dealing while McCullers allowed three runs without recording a single out. Mike Trout took him deep and that was enough for us to sew up this 5-inning play.

Our only loss of the evening ended up being the Giants. We were right about Taylor Clarke and the Giants offense, but Tyler Anderson is simply not a good enough pitcher and gave up more runs.

Still, another good night and we have absolutely been rolling since Jackie Robinson Day. The MLB System is 16-5 since August 28th and shows no signs of slowing down.

Toronto Blue Jays at Boston Red Sox Betting Tips:

Blue Jays: Chase Anderson 3.20 ERA/3.39 FIP
Red Sox: Ryan Weber 5.79 ERA/6.74 ERA

Weber is a low strikeout, high walks, high homerun rate guy. Basically, the trifecta of what we are looking for when going against a pitcher. He’s not likely to go long and the Red Sox bullpen is no good.

Chase Anderson has been putting together some solid starts of late while the Red Sox offense continues to disappoint. This pitch is just as much about Anderson as it is the bullpen behind him that has been very solid.

Bet Blue Jays -139

Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners Betting Tips:

Rangers: Kyle Gibson 6.16 ERA/6.01 FIP
Mariners: Justus Sheffield 4.75 ERA/2.94 FIP

The Rangers are trash. I would’ve gone with the Mariners yesterday, but I had some confusion over who would be starting and stayed away. Today we know it’s Sheffield and I think he’s going to have success here. He’s only allowed one homerun all season and had a great six inning start against the Rangers on August 22nd. His left on base percentage is a little low and he’s doing for some regression there. Texas has just a 61 wRC+ against right handed pitchers.

Seattle’s offense has been very good and rocked Gibson before this season. I am going five innings here because the Mariners traded most of their bullpen to San Diego.

Bet Mariners -145 (First 5 Innings)

Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants Betting Tips:

Diamondbacks: Madison Bumgarner 9.35 ERA/8.79 FIP
Giants: Trevor Cahill 2.51 ERA/4.53 FIP

This tip is 100% about the hot Giants offense and Madison Bumgarner. Madison made four starts before heading to the DL and they were all pretty bad. He has a 3.63 HR/9 rate, low strikeouts, and high walks. He has the huge ERA/FIP as you can see and I think the Giants are going to hit their former ace hard today. Everyone else has.

The Diamondbacks had a good outing yesterday, but I’m still selling this offense. Cahill is nothing special, but he’s done well at home. The bullpen is looking better of late, but I am still sticking with the F5.

Bet Giants -145 (First 5 Innings)
