Well a very disappointing day in the lower English Leagues as we went 0-4.
In League One, we had Coventry vs Portsmouth BTTS. I did say that the big worry is if there wasn’t an early goal. Alas there wasn’t. It took until the 84th minute for Matt Godden to get a goal for Coventry and that was all she wrote.
We had Blackpool and Gillingham to draw. She giveth and she taketh away. Gillingham led 2-1 and Blackpool scored in the 91st minute. Thought we had secured the draw there, only for Hanlan to score for Gillingham in the 95th minute to win the game for them.
We had Over 2.5 goals in Barnsley vs Birningham. Birmingham logged their first clean sheet in forever as they won 1-0. We had Swansea to beat QPR alas Swansea couldn’t even put the ball on target as they drew 0-0. Frustrating one that.
We’ll look ahead to Saturday just now. 3 games on Serie A that are all bettable so let’s see what we got:
Lecce vs SPAL Betting Tips:
Look at Lecce. Someone has woken them up.
It’s like they realized relegation was on the cards and flicked a switch. Sure they had that 3-0 thumping by Verona, but they pulled off that incredible point at home to Inter, followed it up with a 4-0 thrashing of Torino then stunned Napoli with a 3-2 win.
They’re the little engine that could. Or the lecce engine that could.
SPAL meanwhile have had their own upsets. Another team that was able to beat Torino and they also beat Atalanta. I’ll give them this they are able to score the goals lately. Nice to see.
They fielded the same 4-3-3 in the last two games and played an interesting formation, switching to a 4-5-1 in defence and they would drop both their wingers. They played a nice simple game and played the direct ball and that’s what it can take against the good teams.
Against SPAL on the other hand? Not sure it will work out.
These two teams recently played each other in December and SPAL ran out big winners there.
Both teams should see this as a winnable game and treat it as such. Both have serious defensive issues and I think they can get the goals.

Bologna vs Genoa Betting Tips:
I kept saying earlier in the season that by advanced metrics, Bologna were a lot better than they were looking. They’re finally starting to deliver. They come into this one having one three games in a row over Roma, Brescia and SPAL.
Now they face Genoa who are unbeaten in their last three.
Bologna are 7th and chasing Europe. Genoa are 3rd bottom and facing relegation.
I do like the performances of Genoa lately. But Bologna are just a better team and as long as they don’t get complacent or overconfident, they should be fine. Especially with Genoas recent results – will teach them hopefully not to reat them lightly.
