The full event title for this PGA event is the Shriners Hospital for Childrens Open but we shall call it just the Shriners open for short.

This event is held in the wonderful city and state of Las Vegas, Nevada and is a 71 par course that was established back in 1983.

It takes place at the moment at the TPC at Summerlin. Webb Simpson took it down last year. Prior to that, it was known as the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Fun fact: this was where a young golfer by the name of Tiger Woods had his first PGA win.

Shriners Open Betting Odds from . Lets get to the betting tips:

Shriners Open Winner #1: Ryan Moore

It’s no surprise that Ryan Moore is the 3rd favourite on this course, and we have to place a bet on him at nice odds of 20/1.

Moore has a good history on this course. He won it 2 years ago, and was tied for 9th last year. He’s consistent throughout the course and the real question is whether he can have an incredible round. That’s the difference maker on this course. He shot 61 2 years ago. If he can get close to that again even once this time around he should easily get in the top 5.

Bet: Ryan Moore E/W 25/1 at .

Unfortunately that is the only betting tip we have for the Shriners Open. This early in the PGA tour we find it very tricky and we don’t want to make any risky bets.

We will be doing daily fantasy golf this week though at and we will provide a quick list of what we picked in that soon and update this post.

Draftkings Fantasy Golf – Shriners Open

Okay so we did fantasy golf at this week. Here’s who we went with and the salary cap is $50,000 in this one:

Ryan Moore: We picked him here so we have to include him. $11,600.
Brendan Steele: 80/1 at the books, but on a course where birdies are big Steele can really step it up.
Charles Howell III: 3rd last year, this 60/1 at the bookies generally gets a good position or doesn’t make the cut. We’ll risk the former.
Hideki Matsuyama: A big pick at $11,800 considering he has never played this course before and it’s going to force us to pick two weak players. But the way he played last time out we have to go with him. Our fantasy results could live and fall on Matsuyama.
Derek Ernst: Literally scrolled down to the bottom of the salary cap and picked at random to be honest. That leaves us $7100 and we will grab Bryce Molder who went -12 at the Frys.com open.

SHRINERS OPEN 2014 RESULTS & ANALYSIS:

A very, very poor showing from Ryan Moore who was cut after the 2nd round.

Have to wonder if the pressure got to him. Everyone seemed to love Moore here and he just did not play good golf at all.

I mean check out the Golf Channels Fantasy Golf – every single person on the experts panel put him in Group 1.

As it is – fantasy golf wise we cashed! We only entered in the $5 tournament but we made $10, doubling our investment. We came 23rd in that and if it wasn’t for Ryan Moore probably would have had a much higher cash.

So that was good at least.
