This week in golf we’ve got The Open Championship and we’re hoping to continue our nice winning momentum.

2 weeks ago, the 14/1 Jon Rahm was a winner at the Irish Open.

Last week we had another nice little win, with the 80/1 Ryan Fox placing.

I said last week that he was one of the two I was most confident in to the point I ailmost bet half a unit.

Wish I had, but I’ll still take the profit on that one.

Here’s the betting slip from the Scottish Open:

With that let’s turn our attention to the Open.

The Open 2017 Betting Tips:

The Open takes place at Royal Birkdale. It was last held here in 2008. Padraig Harrington won that one as hs successfully defended the Open that he won the prior year in Carnoustie. Man was that an impressive time.

Despite being a major there are obviously times where a big underdog wins. I mean in 2015 it was the 110/1 Zach Johnson. Earlier this decade Oosthuizen was 250/1 and Clarke was 200/1. So it’s not unhead of.

Looks like we’re going to have a decent bit of win and a soft course.

Here’s my thoughts:

Matt Kuchar: A lot of solid performances at the Majors and someone you can usually rely on. Has been in some damn fine form lately and the odds are great considering. I’m on Kuchar for a unit to win and E/W.

Rickie Fowler: Rickie ticks all the boxes this week with his majors performances and his current form. One of the most in-form golfers at the moment and I’d be surprised if he isn’t battling it out Sunday. A full unit to win and E/W. Hopefully he doesn’t let us down like he did the US Open.

Tommy Fleetwood: Honestly I’m not liking this bet due to the odds so it’s your call. He ticks all the boxes for me EXCEPT the price. Part of me hates the bet but he’s in form and coming in off a scintillating performance at the last Major. Quarter unit to win and E/W.

Padraig Harrington: Seems crazy for him to do it however he was able to handle this course well many years ago and he’s coming into this on the back of two solid performances. -1 at the Memorial Tournament and then -6 at the Travelers Championship where he came 17th. Honestly I’m a bit ticked I missed the boat on him last week for the Scottish Open. I’m fine with backing him for a quarter unit to win and E/W.

Steve Stricker: My final bet is on the in-form Steve Stricker who is coming in on the back of a great performance. His stats seem to suit this course well and his recent Majors form has been solid. Actually you can always count on him to at least make the cut. 1/4 unit to win and E/W.
