Welcome to the free sports betting tips for Monday, January 16th, 2017.

All eyes were on the NFL this weekend, as eight became four and we have narrowed the field for potential Super Bowl winners right down. Yes, it’s either going to be the Packers, the Falcons, the Patriots or the Steelers. There’s not going to be any real shock winner this season, yet again, but it was good for fans of teams like the Chiefs to dream about what could have been. So, remember to check back for our NFL tips later on in the week. Elsewhere, the big match of the weekend saw Manchester United draw 1-1 with Liverpool in what is one of the biggest rivalries in English football. However, the big story of the weekend was in the other Manchester/Merseyside derby. In what was a real turn up for the books, Everton only went and put four past Manchester City to basically shaft Pep and his lads so early in 2017. It was a humbling defeat for Manchester City and a reminder that all the money in the world can’t get you titles if the team isn’t bonding. Still, there’s always next season, right?

Now, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for January 16th, 2017.

Torino vs AC Milan Betting Tip

These two sides last played each other just four days ago in the Coppa Italia, with AC Milan coming out 2-1 winners. That marked just one win in five for Torino, while AC Milan have now gone four games without defeat, with that defeat coming at the hands of Roma. Torino are favourites for this, with AC Milan the underdogs to replicate their Coppa Italia win.

However, the stat here that’s important is Torino’s home form. Out of their last 9 home games in the league, they’ve won six of them, losing to Juventus and drawing with Lazio and Empoli. Of Milan’s last five away games in the league, they won three and lost two, with all but one game going over 2.5 goals. I can actually side either side winning this, and normally I would opt for the value of a Milan win, but I think the price is just about right. Instead, take over 2.5 goals as AC Milan are good for it away from home, and their meeting in the Coppa Italia finished 2-1 in favour of Milan. It’s the slight outsider in the market, with the bookies opting for under as marginal favourite, so get on the value as I can see a few goals in this.

NHL Betting Tips

First up, we have to take Capitals to win in regulation for the simple fact that they’re riding a hot streak at the moment, so what’s not to love about them being around the 2.2 mark? The Caps have won their last nine games and have managed to shutout teams on four occasions. When you factor in their opposition, the Penguins, who are on a three game skid, it’s a real no-brainer to me.

The second and final game tonight for our free NHL betting tips is the Stars vs Sabres. We’re going for over 5.5 goals in the Stars vs Sabres game because both sides just plain stink when it comes to keeping the opposition out. Out of the Stars last six games, only one game has finished under 5.5 goals, while it’s two out of six games for the Sabres. The stats all point to goals in this one, so I’m thinking that the high-scoring run continues for both teams.
